Skin allergies??

Could it be possible that detergen, soap, shampoo or even dust can cause skin to feel itchy, red and bumpy sometimes? What if I have used the same product for years and it has never cause those symptom? My housemate used to have chicken pox and after two weeks I got shingles. Was sent to seen neurologist and got better in two weeks. But a week after that, I have itchiness and redness of my skin which last from minutes to hours, on and off almost everyday. He prescribed me with antihistamine, it helps with the itchiness sometimes, but i still have the same itchiness and redness on an off. My neurologist consulted the hospital's dermatologist and through phone she said it could be an autoimmune disorder and will last for few months. Should I go and seek other specialist advise or just wait and see???
Skin allergies??
Ask to be referred to a dermatologist, so they can make a proper diagnosis, rather than guess work over the phone.
Skin allergies??
ya when chicken pox beguns to fade away it does cause lot of itching.u could wait for a week or so then get consulted again.
Reply:I've had red itchy rashes / bumps for about a week. Went to see my Doctor and she said it was an allergy, but the only way to really find out what it is and try and eliminate on ething at a time and see what happens. She also said Anti-histamine.

I've since found it was an Imperial Bubble Bath, ironically enough for Sensitive skin!

So you could try eliminating one thing at a time and see what happens. I struck lucky and found mine.

Good luck!
Reply:I think the after affects of shingles is affecting you

I suffer from sensitivity to a lot of things, some foods, dust, pollen, soaps.......I take Zirtek everyday because the the other ones make me drowsy, also dry skin can make you very itchy

I would seek specialist advice if it continues because you can't live like that it will drive you mad.......

good luck xx
Reply:All of the things you described can cause you to have an allergic reaction. If you want to lower your allergy load, here are some things you can do....use a free and clear detergent, use Bounce with a rating of 0, (no dyes no perfumes) use ivory soap and use a baby shampoo.

If you do this for a week or so, you may notice a difference. Then you can add things back one at a time and determine what things are causing you to have a reaction.

The key thing to remember is....no dyes, no perfumes. Your perfume, scented lotion, etc. All of these things can cause an allergic reaction.

Hope you feel better soon.

For about 10 years i have been noticing my skin has been welting after i itch it. the welts last for less than ten minutes and go away with no scar. Skin care cheap?

I was just wondering if there are any skin care products out there that are really cheap and good quality? I have recently checked out elfcosmetics.com and they only have make up but it is good quality and everything sells dirt cheap for one dollar and I was wondering if there were any sites for cheap skin care products like elfcosmetics where it only costs one dollar?
Skin care cheap?
Cheap usually means full of fillers and chemicals or out of date products. I would not go with cheap for skincare. You are just asking for problems later.
Skin care cheap?
how about soap and water
Reply:avon is ace and its cheep x
Reply:There are some brands like Clean %26amp; Clear and Almay that are not expensive.

But try to have a good quality skincare line, it's essential to the health of ur skin...

U can buy cheap make-up, but cheap cleansers and moisturizers will have its consequences later...
Reply:how about Olay skincare works very well or maybe Dove new skincare line or perhaps neutrogena is really good.
Reply:I used to be a fan of Lancome products. But since I've been a single mum for a while, I now find AVON products equally fantastic and far less expensive. Or else Neutrogena is great, too.
Reply:I have been using the Zenmed products for about a month, and I have noticed a change in my skin. I started Zenmed products 7 weeks ago and it's much better. I love the fact that it鈥檚 all natural and pure. I am Totally satisfied with product quality and results. Try it once...

Skin problems?

i have really fine and sensative skin, is there any kind of foundation or powder that isnt over expensive but wont severely hurt my skin?
Skin problems?
Try using light makeup like tinted moisturizer. Tinted moisturizers deposit a little color and act as a lotion. Try Burt's Bees Tinted Moisturizer. It doesn't contain any harmful chemicals just like the rest of their products in their line and it works great!

yeah, there are mousse foundations that wont hurt ur skin, also spray foundations

Skin rash from dry skin maybe?

i work outside everyday and my skin gets very dry. every so often (2-4 weeks) i get this uncomfortable rash at the very top (the crook) of the inner thigh usually on the left side. its a bit moist and seems to have an unpleasant odor. it usually is gone or mostly gone the next day
Skin rash from dry skin maybe?
Soulds like a heat rash from sweating. I would try applying corn starch to the area before you go to work, make sure the area is clean and dry. if this doesn't help, it might be a yeast infection or dermatitis and this must be treated with a prescription steroid cream or maybe ask your local pharmacist for something over the counter.

Does the area itch...if so try Lanacane, an ointment that numbs the area until you can go to the doctor of pharmacist :-)

Hope this helps!

Skin allergy...the skin on my thumb gets really hard then falls off...?
i think you should try expierementing, with the products you use, especially if you use a lot of skin products, another thing is, instead of (IF your wearing lotion) those nice scented bath and body works lotions, try some natural aloe, or try something called Cetaphil.. it works great to retain water in your skin.. hmm maybe thats your problem. but i hope this helped!

What is a basic no-frill skin care regimen for my troubled skin?

I have oily skin, with the first signs of aging on my face. I am 28 with moderate to severe acne.

My body skin is oily in places and dry in others. I am prone to skin wounds that are difficult to heal.

What is a no frill skin care regimen I can follow with common drugstore brands?
What is a basic no-frill skin care regimen for my troubled skin?
Common drug store brands are rarely the way to go.

Most will only separate you from your hard earned money while feeding you illusions.

I would suggest that you consider that you have nutritional deficiencies. Read as much Natural health material as you can get your hands on. There is no reason for you to have signs of aging at 28, unless you have neglected or abused yourself.

If you smoke, or drink, stop.

The best suggestions I can give you are to

eliminate all the junk from your diet

start eating lots of fresh (only fresh, not canned or even frozen) veggies, steamed

small amounts of lean protien without hormones added

drink lots of clear water

In addition to an excellent high quality multi vitamin/mineral supplement, take beta-carotene mega-doses everyday ( your body converts this to vitamin A, on an as needed basis, helping to avoid the problems of vit. A toxicity. This both helps clear the acne, and help the skin heal from any sort of wound.

If you cannot get beta cartotene at a reasonable price locally, then vitamin A capsules. Look up the maximum dose, on a website like medline. Take a high dose, but do not exceed the max dose. Toxicity is bad news.

Here is about the only the only common drug store recommendation I can make:

Kirk's castille soap ( castille soap has no animal products and is pure) You may even find it at your grocery store, or if necessary can buy it online, but more expensive that way. About $1 per bar.

Kroger's usually has it in a little space near the mega-corp bar soaps.

and

Queen Helen Mint Julep masque for your face. Walgreens usually has this. It is magic in a tube. Very basic stuff. No ad campaign necessary. About $3 per tube.
What is a basic no-frill skin care regimen for my troubled skin?
Stop putting crap on your face. Use a soap that will leave your face clean without leaving lotion on it. I recommend Zest (aqua) twice a day. Eat a good balanced diet.
Reply:Cetaphil cleanser 2x a day - it is very gentle and won't make you breakout more.

Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion 1x a day - in the morning- it has salycilic acid, an acne fighter in it. You need to have a salycilic acid treatment that stays on your face all day in order for it to be effective. This lotion will treat your dry spots.

Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment 2x a day on acne only - This is a benzoyl peroxide treatment that will clear up breakouts. It is only 2.5% strength, but I believe less is more for benzoyl peroxide. Maximum strength makes your skin red and itchy.

That is it! If you use a foundation, you can use one for oily skin, but make sure it doesn't have any acne clearing medication or "fresheners" in it. You don't want to double up on the medicine.
Reply:If you use turmeric paste it would have out standing results. Get raw Turmeric and grind a small stick into a wet paste. The paste should not be very thick meaning little water should be used. Hand grind it as it is a very small amount required. Apply a thin layer over the affected area and wash it off after a few hours like any other face pack. The longer the better. It would leave an yellowish colour for a day or so. But it has outstanding results. This is a very ancient and an effective Indian remedy. Best of luck.
Reply:Oily Skin Treatment

When the sebaceous glands in the body produce excess sebum, your skin turns oilier. Due to this skin condition you are most prone to face problems such as acne, whiteheads, blackheads, etc. Therefore due care should be taken on a regular basis to reduce the chances of developing skin diseases.

Skin DAMAGED from tanning bed!?

I'm 15 and i've been going to a tanning bed 2-3 times a week since about August. I just started to notice my skin is aging, and my stomache is getting some wrinkles, nothing major but enough for me to tell. How can i fix this? Is there any kinds of lotions that will renew my skin? HELP!
Skin DAMAGED from tanning bed!?
umm well stop tanning , the bulbbs in a tanning bed are 12 times more harmful than the suns rays, and you can develp cancer within the first three visits to the tanning bed it unhealthy and it looks like shi* and idk what to say about the aging and teh wrinkles, its damaged skin not much you can do. and at such a young age that sucks,, sorry

but good luck
Skin DAMAGED from tanning bed!?
First off you should'nt be tanning in a bed...that often at your age.....your drying out the natural oils in your body that makes your skin soft. If you must I would suggest limiting your visits

What can you do to help the problem now?

Use lotions to soften the skin, perferably something with aloe vera.
Reply:Wrinkles come from your skin being dehydrated. Use lotion before and after your tanning session. As much as tanning you do, you should apply lotion everyday.

Of course, sunless tanning lotions would be a great alternative to indoor tanning.
Reply:Stop tanning and see a dermatologist. There may be no cure for it. Tanning (beds or natural) can be very dangerous. My friend already has had skin cancer removed from 5 spots on her body, caused by tanning and she's only 35. My friend's mom had skin cancer removed from her face. She never set foot in a tanning bed, but was outside without sunscreen as a kid. I know of teenage girls that have been eaten alive by skin cancer from tanning beds. Be careful. You may think tan is beautiful now, but in the long run pale skin is much sexier than scarred, cancerous skin.
Reply:drink water, exfoliate and use lotion. Jergens makes a lotion called "age defying" multi-vitamin moisturizer, you can get it at the grocery store, I used it when I stopped indoor tanning and it really helped more than anything else, you should try it. Also if I were you I would stop tanning, if your skin is damaged at 15 imagine how it will look when your 25!
Reply:I'm going to tell you the truth. There probably are many lotions that you could try, but the fact of the matter is none of them are going to work for an extended period of time. Your skin is losing its elasticity from the UV rays used in the tanning bed. Your best bet is to stop going all together.

Not only will it save your skin, but it may save your life. Tanning beds are linked to melanoma...skin cancer......one of the most dangerous kinds of cancer.
Reply:hah. should of thought of this before you went into a cancer bed. guess youre not so "sExAy!" anymore
Reply:From what you have described, it seems that your skin is badly burned as you have been tanning the skin too many times.

Use a mild shower gel. Apply a layer of milk lotion after your shower. This milk lotion has very cooling effect as its main ingredient chlorella CE which will help to heal your skin.

Check out this link..Its an exclusive product available online.

Skin Remedies?

Does anyone know of any skin remedies?

Rid pimples within one day?

Smooth fresh looking skin?
Skin Remedies?
take about four aspirin and dissolve them in a few drops of water.. add in a squirt of honey and make it into a paste.. you can also add in a few vitamin e capsules if ya like.. this can be used as a scrub, mask if left on for ten minutes, and a spot treatment left on over night..

aspirin has the same active ingredient as pro active.. i've also read that it helps to lessen the appearance of scars..

another thing i do as an exfoliate is i scrub my face with an electric toothbrush.. it's sounds kinda weird but it works.. it really cleans out your pores and removes dead skin, oil and dirt.. you can use any scrub ya like or the aspirin i mentioned.. i like to use st. ives.. and i do it about three times a week..

only wash your face when you wake up in the morning, before you go to bed, and after exercise.. excess washing makes your face produce extra oil..

warm water opens pores and cold closes them.. so wash with warm and rinse with cold..

also you may want to get a good toner and moisturizer.. not astringent because it contains a ton of alcohol and is rough on your skin..

a whipped up egg yolk left on the face for ten minutes is a natural moisture mask.. a whipped up egg white tightens your face..

and watch the make up you use.. a mineral make up is so much better for your skin.. it doesn't clog your pores or make you break out..

i hope this helps..
Skin Remedies?
Cleanse, Exfoliate, Steam, Tone, then Benzoyl Peroxide.
Reply:Lemon juice applied regulary has proved very beneficial in reducing pimples and acne. I ,ove it i use once daily with a cotton ball the vitamin c is great for skin (brightens skin evens skin tone fades acne scars)

Skin question!!?

Hi, The back of my calves and the side of my thighs have skin colored bumps on them!! well I know that I got the calve one from tanning but the one on my thigh is kind of scaring me. It looks like my skin is puffed up. I don't know what to do. I've had them for few months now. Since 2006 Summer I believe.

Any info about this will really help me out. I'm gonna go to the doctor soon, but I want to know that yahoo users have to say. Thank You=]
Skin question!!?
I have never seen or herd of anything like that and it sounds really Gross, you should have seen a doctor about it a long time ago.

Skin trouble..?

my sister seems to be having this skin problem..

she seems to scar really easily.. for example, even a mosquito bite leaves a scar for a really long time...

she's also got dark spots on her face.. old acne scars..

the whole problem is that the scars don't seem to be going off at all..

we've taken her to a million doctors, but nobody seems to know whats wrong.. shes been on medication... (oral medication and external creams) for over 2 years, but nothing's working..

we're worried, cos she'll be starting college next year, and her skin problem might be a bit of a setback for her.. she has really low self-esteem becos of it..

recently, another doctor said that maybe her problem has something to do with excess of the hormone melanin, or excess of ACTH hormone...

can anyone please shed some light on the matter?

thanx..
Skin trouble..?
Ok, did they test ACTH? This is a test for low cortisol. Low cortisol would cause melanin problems. Does she tire easily, especially with stress? Scarring easily could be diabetes. If both problems, could be pituitary disorder. She needs to see an endocrinologist.
Skin trouble..?
i had bad acne when i was young and got a cream from the health shop which got rid of it great stuff worked better than anything from doctor. raw vegtables very good for skin and lots of water great. i fi had known htat then i would not of had acne. don,t smoke either.
Reply:Notice if she has scars on the hidden parts of her body, where mosquitoes can't bite. If she has the scars there, it means she has a systemic disease with her blood. If no scars at hiden parts, so use a cream having Vitamin A in it, and let her drink carrot juice 3 times a week for now, then one time a week after two months.

Cooking olive oil for skin??

Okay, so I hear so much good about olive oil for the skin, but I have spent an hour on-line looking for pure olive oil for skin and can not find a thing...is the olive oil you find in the grocery store used for cooking good to put topicall on the skin?? Please let me know..I am 22 have sensitive dry skin, and have a Lot of fine lines...people always think i am in the 30's....
Cooking olive oil for skin??
Olive oil is good to combat stretch lines, etc ... I wouldn't suggest using it as a daily moisturizer, as it may make you break out. Most lotions on the market have a significant amount of alcohol in them (for fragrance purposes), therefore, they actually fry out your skin, rather than hydrate it. I would suggest a moisturizer with SPF in it for your face (I use Neutrogena and like it a lot) and a good lotion, like Eucerin, for your body. Hope this helps.
Cooking olive oil for skin??
When you are using olive oil for skin care, it's good to buy the very best, extra-virgin one you can find...organic if it's available. There are a number of uses for it and it's been proven over time to be an incredible moisturizer. I will give you some links to look through - some of them you may have to scroll down a bit...

Reply:Useing extra virgin olive oil in preparing your foods and as an ingredient in salad dressings, etc. is all you need to do to benefit from it's moisturing properties. Mediterranian women and men have smooth beautiful skin from the oil.
Reply:Try the website for Aubrey Organics. I use Lumessence Rejuvenating Eye Creme which contains olive oil twice a day. It's very gentle and absorbs quickly.

Maintain with apricot scrub twice a week.

Be sure the moisturizer is oil free, and non comedogenic [ doesn't cause pimples ].

And drink LOTS of water!

Skin tips.?
When looking at face washes, make sure you read what the product says it treats. But honestly, tons of the stuff out there doesn't work.

It also depends on your skin type. If you have tons of acne, the most important thing is to make sure your face is clean. Oil and dirt just makes your pores clog up and causes more acne. Look for face washes specifically for acne. The main ingredient in acne face washes is salicylic acid (just different concentrations of it). Problem w/ salicylic acid is that it tends to dry out your skin so it is essential to lotion your face. Also, if your face is too dry, your skin will over compensate for that and will end up producing even more oil. I personally can't use anything with salicylic acid because it dries my face out way too much even with lotion (but my acne isn't bad anymore). I like using cetaphil's face wash since it is really mild and doesn't have salicylic acid.

I've heard Neutrogena oil free face wash is good. There are face washes w/ lil beads that scrubs your face too. I've used Aveeno Daily Scrub Skin Brightening that is good but not specifically for acne.

When buying lotions make sure it says it's non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). However, even if it does say non-comedogenic, really it means it is "less likely" to clog your pores. Some may and some may not. A good lotion I've found is Eucerin Original Lotion and Eucerin Replenishing lotion. I like Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion too, but it doesn't feel as smooth as Eucerin. Although they aren't specifically made for your face, I find them to work well. Don't buy anything that says "creme" for your face, because it will be extremely thick.

Some people "pop" their pimples. I'm not sure if it really helps, but I personally wouldn't. It can lead to scarring and if you're doing it w/ your hands, you will probably get more dirt in your pores.

Blackheads... really annoying lil stinkers.. There are blackhead strips that you can use. They do seem to work somewhat, but it can damage your skin too. Also, the strips wouldn't be able to get down deep in your pores. If you REAALLY want to get your blackheads out, I heard facials are good.. but expensive.

Toners basically removes any dirt left after you wash your face. You put some on a cotton-ball and rub it on your face. It also closes up your pores after you wash. Toners have some sort of astringent and alcohol. Look for toners with witch hazel (type of astringent). The higher the concentration of alcohol, the more it dries out your face though. So watch out for that. Neutrogena has an alcohol-free toner.

If you were wondering about order: wash your face first, use toner, then moisturize.

Hope this helps! :-)
Reply:Even oily skin needs a moisturizer, but choose a light, watery fluid; this will be enough for your skin. Allow the moisturizer to sink in well and then absorb the excess with a tissue to prevent shine.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...
Reply:To relieve oily skin

- Try to drink plenty of water every day.

- Avoid smoking.

- Try to have a healthy diet

use matte make-up that won't clogg your pores.

crush some oatmeal into powder and get one egg white that's been beaten till foamy. mix the powdery oatmeal and egg white untill you get a thick messy goop and put a thick layer on your face and leave until dry. then wash your face off with warm water and then cold water. this will help with the oil on your face and any blemishes.

you can also use a ready made product. i really like the biore brand.
Reply:Work from the inside as well, and drink lots of water. You can puy 'Pore reducing' cleansers and face masks, and ive heard the Avon pore reducing face mask is good..but there are lots out there. Make sure you cleanse and moisturise twice a day(finish off with cool water on your skin). If you have oily skin, still use a moisturiser ,as that will help balance your skin. By not using it,your skin will over compensate and create more oil...but always use products that dont clog your pores. Also, use a toner, get a good 6 to 8 hours sleep, and eat plenty of fruit and vegies. If your hair is a little oily, tie it back away from your face as well ok. I will add a link below where you can find homemade recipies for every type of skin care..this site has everything..for hair as well.
Reply:know this sounds weird, but it works. I'm 25 and wish I had found it years ago. I have super super oily skin and used to have to wash my face by lunch.

This is my secret: Milk of magnesia as a primer under foundation or powder.

Cheap, easy, and SUPER effective at keeping my face matte for the majority of the day and my pores looking smaller. Nothing else has worked for me like milk of magnesia. It also makes the application of my makeup look even. I use it daily.

Just in case you are wondering, milk of magnesia is the laxative/antacid that you can buy at the drugstore. Commonly called Maalox or Phillips. You can buy a big bottle of generic ($4) and it works just the same. Milk of magnesia is a mineral and is not harmful to the skin. In fact, it is probably better than some of the more expensive primers which may have irritants that can cause dicoloration and breakouts. Milk of magnesia helps to calm skin and can even help to get rid of some of the bacteria in pores. The key is to apply a very thin layer before applying makeup. I, too, use mineral foundation. Works great together.

I'm sooo sick of having bad skin.. urgh.. I'm so impatient! What can I do to get flawless skin?!?

I had PERFECT skin up until a few months ago (I'm 17, around the time I turned 17 it started to get really bad)... and now that I have mild acne on my forehead and my inner and outer cheeks. I'm so sick of it! I see kids at school with worse skin but that does NOT make me feel better. I can't settle for just normal teenage skin.. is this just a phase?

I'm using Differin acne cream.. its been 2 weeks yesterday since ive started using it. Apparently the first 2 weeks are the worst and make your acne worse and your skin burns and stuff, that stuff DID happen... so does this mean it'll work?

Ahh! I'm not used to having bad skin :( grr.. any tips on how to play up other features of my face? (like my eyes) or something?
I'm sooo sick of having bad skin.. urgh.. I'm so impatient! What can I do to get flawless skin?!?
I have been on Differin for a few months now and also one oral antibiotic and Clindamycin and my acne is just starting to get better. If your's it isn't better in a month, go back to the dermatologist and ask for more meds!

1. Go on the pill...tell your doctor you want it to clear your skin.

2. Drink 1.25 gallons (5l) of water everyday--not milk, tea, coffee, booze, or bubbly syrup...water.

3. Stop popping pimples. Popping them forces the bacteria into your blood stream, meaning that more pimples will appear because of each pop.

4. Use a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol to clean your face, then rinse with lots of water. Each night before bed, put a drop of honey on each pimple and cover it with a bandaid; remove them in the morning. The honey decays into hydrogen peroxide, and the sugar level in honey is toxic to the bacteria that cause acne. Plus, the honey cuts the bacteria off from air.
Reply:The Proactive Solution that is advertized by Jessica Simpson ....really works my friends and I use it ...It gives you clear and beautiful skin.
Reply:I use Vichy products (toner, moisturizer, cleanser %26amp; exfoliator in the Norma Derm collection) and it helps to prevent it. Don't exfoliate everyday, only about once a week.

Also I think products with salicylic acid will help but most will dry your skin out like crazy.

Drink lots of water.
Reply:Stop being a racist... it's stressing you out and causing bad skin.

Skin Problem!!!!?

I NEVER go tanning, and I always wear a high SPF but my skin seems to have a organish and yellowish color whenever I look in the mirror. What can I do to get rid of this annoying color? I dont have any medical problems or anyhting. People have been noticing my orangish skin and its terrible!!
Skin Problem!!!!?
WOW, It is terrible
Skin Problem!!!!?
Most people who have this color are vegetable eaters. The carotene in colored vegetable like carrots can color the skin.
Reply:It probably just has to do with your body's pigment which in order to fix that, tanning beds are only the next thing to do.
Reply:There are two situations I have seen:

1. Over use of Vitamin C...honestly...I've seen orange skin before.

2. Don't blow off the medical thing yet...have you been checked out by a doctor?
Reply:if u eat a lot of carrots that may be the problem,n e ways orangish looking skin is pretty especially if its smooth
Reply:i would go see your Dr. yellow orange color can be sign of liver disease.
Reply:You can try these home remedies to remove tan %26amp; lighten skin:

Mix 1 table spoon of milk powder, 1 table spoon of honey, 1 table spoon of lemon juice, and 陆 table spoon of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin and also removes tan.

Mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice and apply on the face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It helps remove the tan and lightens the skin.

Place sliced raw potato on the face. It helps reduce blemishes and other marks.

Applying turmeric powder along with lime juice removes the tan. Lime juice is natural bleach.

Dried orange peels mixed with curd also help reduce blemishes and scars. Wash off this mixture with cold water after 15 minutes.

Soak 4 almonds overnight. Grind into a fine paste using milk. Apply on face and neck and leave it overnight. Wash with cold water in the morning. Do this daily for 15 days, followed by twice a week.

A table spoon of gram flour mixed with 2 table spoon of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice works well for lightening dark skin. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off. Repeat for 4 weeks and follow up with once a week.

Apply a paste of fresh ground mint leaves and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with cold water, continue for 15 days.

Apply a mixture of grated tomato with 2-3 drops of lime juice on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Do this twice a day for 15-20 days for best results.

How to lose weight and get the skin tighter? is this possible?
If you lose weight sensibly, like 2-3 pounds per week and do stretching exercises like yoga or pilates while you are losing the weight you should be fine. The skin tends to stay baggy when weight is lost rapidly. good luck, i'm sure you'll look great in no time at all!!!

Great post! I totally understand how you feel. I'm also trying to lose weight and I found this great product which is working for me. You can check the website at http://www.onesdirect.info , I had a free trial and paid less than 7.00$ shipping and handling. Best of luck!
Reply:as long as you lose weight healthily and don't do it too quickly, your skin will naturally go back to the way it was.
Reply:yves rocher has great stuff for that youll need to have patience and apply at least a few times a week 1-2 times a day is best
Reply:Just stay fat. Not likely you would change your habits enough to make any progress for very long.

To lighten complexion try lemon juice (rub on face then wash off after about 5minutes) or crushed strawberries are an old remedy. leave on face for 5 minutes then wash off. Good for whitening teeth too!

Hi i am wondering what is the best lotion to give your skin a smooth soft appearance and help with dry skin but does not make you oily? I have nice tan skin but most of the time you cant tell cause its always dry. i want my skin to be spft and supple...any help?
Best lotion for nice skin?
I love using the olay quench body lotion. I think that it works great. it may be expensive (I think 5 or 6 dollars a bottle) but it works. i also think that the aveeno naturals works really good. Its made from natural ingredients so it wont leave you feeling greasy or oily. I hope that helps.
Best lotion for nice skin?
i love fruits and passions body butters and lotions. and the body shop's. they smell awesome and are delish.
Reply:Suave advanced therapy lotion. It's non-greasy and makes your skin softer after the first application. Hope it works for you like it does for me.
Reply:Use baby lotion.
Reply:If you can get it in your part of the world, use Nivea sun lotion. My skin feels wonderful after a summer of using it.
Reply:I know exactly how u feel. I don't like oily lotions either but they have this new Vaseline cocoa butter that is just perfect. it leaves your skin smooth and not oily.
Reply:I have really dry skin. I love Arbonne's body lotions..

Skin Cancer?????

I have a lot of white bumps kind of in between my chest and neck. Both parents have had to have skin cancer removed. The white bumps kind of look like big whiteheads, but they cant be scratched off or popped so I am a little worried. Is skin cancer always a discolored mole, or can it be white bumps like this?
Skin Cancer?????
It may just be whiteheads but with your family history i would be showing your doctor to be sure. Skin cancer is not always a discolored mole. Better to be safe than sorry!
Skin Cancer?????
you know i got those around my bra line, turned out they were skin tags. not really moles or zits, but harmless the docs told me. might be those Report It

Reply:if visible.palpable, goes to other portion .it might be.

but .you must do several investigation.

Unless you are at least over age 25 and a heavy sun worshiper or a very heavy tanner it is highly unlikely that you have non melanoma skin cancer - especially from what you have described for symptoms. Young girls do sometimes get melanoma but they look nothing like what you describe.

Skin Bleach and Skin Lighteners??

What is the difference?

And my skin tone is fairly uneven and i would like to get it back to its natural state can either of these help?

If so, which one, and do you have any reccomendations?
Skin Bleach and Skin Lighteners??
If you're looking to fade freckles and sunspots go to a dermatologist and have him/her give you a recommendation for a product. Skin lighteners are dangerous to use without any supervision. You could easily damage your skin irreversibly while using them.
Skin Bleach and Skin Lighteners??
go to a demotogist..
Reply:your skin has gone through discoloration.....look for a chinese skin product store near u.otherwise try on the web qiora.com......they have the best creams for such problems...n dont rely on rite aid or walgreens products....they dont work.
Reply:My best friend suffers from eczema and to rid herself of this and the scarring she did the following:

1. Got off all dairy and meat (eggs, cheese, fish, red meat, turkey, chicken, milk, yogurt, butter, etc.)

2. Started drinking tons of water

3. Walked every day religiously

4. Took a bath daily as opposed to a shower and soaked in yellow dock leaves (and/or red clover) as well as drank yellow dock tea (and/or red clover); she said mud masks were helpful too.

5. Switched to all natural skin products with no unidentifiable ingredients.

6. Started eating lots of fresh and frozen foods. Skipped packaged foods with unpronounceable and unrecognizable ingredient names

7. Wore natural fabrics that breathe like cotton and skipped synthetic fabric and blends that suffocate/itch the skin

Of all the above things, she said that cutting the dairy out and drinking much more water was tremendous and resolved this longtime problem for her. I actually shared this with someone else who said the same thing. God bless your health.
Reply:the skin lightening regimen should include -

1. good quality (and safe) skin lighteners

2. high spf sunscreen

3. your moisturizers

4. vitamin C

Skin graft?

Does anyone know anything about skin grafts? How long you stay in the hospital? Does it hurt? What am I to expect? I am having a skin graft on Wednesday on my shin from a wound that is 1 inch wide and 2 1/2 inches long. The donor site will be my butt. Thank you!
Skin graft?
Skin graft is remove the superficial layer of the skin and transfer to the desire area for promoting healing. Sometimes the doc might want to use a surgical staple to hold the thin skin to your shin. Not much of post ops pain however I would recommend to change the dressing post ops in a week time. reason being the buttock skin is raw and will stick to dressing. It will be painful if the dressing is change early. by a week time.
Skin graft?
yeah skin grafts are extra flabs of skin that doctors use to repair burnt off parts of skin i guess it would hurt. and they use skin from ur butt and stuff so yeah sucks for u.
Reply:My husband had one done as out patient surgery. It wasn't bad and he actually started feeling better after a day or two because he didnt have a big open wound anymore. Good luck

Skin tone?

I'm a girl of color, and I have uneven skin tone (lighter in some places, much darker in others, particularly arms and back). Over the counter creams have failed to work (though i have only actually tried two). WHat is the best way to even out skin tone? Do i need to see a dermatologist, as has been suggested? or am i just not using the right OTC creams?
Skin tone?
use toner...it will even out your skin tone...foundation or a tinted moisturizer will also help even out your skin tone...benefit makes a really good tinted moisturizer and its only like $25
Skin tone?
It is totally common in people of color, and it is NORMAL. Don't go wiggin out and pull a michael jackson or sumthin like that. I don't think it can be evened out, but a good moisturizer works wonders. The best I have found is coconut oil, or Walgrens after sun lotion. i swap back and forth based on my mood. the coconut oil makes me really horny... dunno why, but uuuhhhh hhhhuuuuhhhh....
Reply:I have basically the same problem on my forehead. When I had braids,I had to tie my hair up in a du-rag,and the dye in the rag would break out my forehead, causing white small bumps. When I would scrape them off with a bobby pin,it would be painful, but it was beneficial to me.Like After a week,I would have this black line across my forehead. So I use cover up.Use Cover up and youll be fine.

Skin tones ?!?

I dont get the whole skin tone thing, haha im sorry but people will be saying like cool undertones and stuff.. i'm trying to figure out a blonde color for my hair.. and i dont know how to describe my skin besides pale! lol can someone please help me ?
Skin tones ?!?
its actually really easy. you have to think about what colors look better on you. the easiest way is to think about jewelry. if you look better in silver, you have cool skin. if its gold, its warm. also if you look better in colors that are more of a purple than a maroon- you have cool skin. if its the maroon its warm. you can tell after a while. because skin with blue undertones looks better with colors with blue undertones. if you have yellow undertones, similar colors with such undertones work more.
Skin tones ?!?
If your Avatar is a reasonable likeness to how you look, I believe "Medium Golden Blonde" would be an accurate description of your hair-color (perhaps Strawberry-Blonde).

Another word for "pale skin tone" is "fair skin tone" or a "light skin tone".
Reply:look at your wrist. If you see blue veins then your cool. This means pinks probably would suit you in makeup. Your foundation should follow the cool undertone thing. If your veins appear more green than your warm. Browns, reds, and warm colors work better on you. If your still not sure you might be neutral but you will still be either cool or warm.

Skin undertones?

how do we know our skin undertones color? what color foundation is suitable for yellow or pinkish skin undertones? for example: beige or ivory.
Skin undertones?
i might be reading your question incorrectly - it's early in the a.m.

depends on the company who makes the makeup.

company a's beige could have pink tone.

company b's beige could have yellow tone.

here are some suggestions/hints:

if you look better in (with no makeup on) purples, pinks, (jewel tones) then you are probably cool.

if you look better in (no makeup on ) army green, orange (earth tones) then you are probably a warm.

when purchasing makeup at the drugstore ask FIRST about their return policy. if they will return with receipt, then buy 2 or 3, take them home to try out (natural light) and take the other(s) back.

if you purchase it from a makeup counter at department store ask about their lighting. there are lights (expensive) that mimic natural lighting, however, nothing is as natural as natural , so ask if you can use a mirror to go outside to check out the color.

typically, at a day spa, they will touch up your makeup after your service. this is a great way to play with color and application. the one doing your makeup will normally give you a mirror to check out the makeup in the natural light. all the professional makeup lines i know of have a 100% money back guarantee. if you don't like it for ANY reason , you get all your money back (and sometimes a gift for trying it in the first place).

check the return policy
Skin undertones?
i m a guy i dont know
Reply:always be sure to get loose powter!! and probly beige, but you can brush it on with a blush brush if its loose powter so you can use different tones on different surfaces of your face, pending on what tone that section of your face is!
Reply:hi

try them on the skin of ur forearm ....or u can try it on ur face b4 u buy it and see which one looks more natural and doesnt give u a pale look . also use a blusher to see which one is more suitable.. u can do that by putting half ur face a color and the other half the other color and compare them.

gooooooood luck
Reply:It depends really on the foundation. Check out your department store and ask one of the ladies there to help you pick your best shade... Pink, Yellow, or Neutral undertones are really hard to tell for people new in this whole make-up thing... Even drugstores that carry make-up have those handy see thru cards that you can use to plave over the inside of your wrist to find a color match. Your best bet, of course, is still seeing the experts at the department stores.

Good luck and stay pretty!
Reply:The best way to find a suitable foundation shade is to try it on you're skin for pink undertones try ivories and beige for yellow or olive. but if unsure got to the cosmetic counter and ask to try it. If the shade is right for you it should blend till you can not tell you have it on the key to good make up is looking natural and just enhancing what you already have.
Reply:Ideally one should test a bit of foundation by applying someon the cheek at the make up counter, to know whether the color blends well into your skin or not. If you cannot find a suitable coulor, then maybe you will have to use some transluscent powder to get the desired result. Sometimes you have to mix 2 or 3 shades to get the right blend.

To bring some glow to a yellowish complexion, try a rose tinted foundation combined with a bit of beige. It really depends on every person's skin texture and coloring. You would have to sample many brands and shades till you find the one which suits you the best.
Reply:Put it on your jawline, if it disappears into your skin without being noticeable then it's the one for you.
Reply:Foundations, for the most part, come in warm and cool shades. Warm shades are for skin with yellow undertones, and cool shades are for skin with pink undertones. If you have, for example, a cool skin tone, and you apply a warm-toned foundation, you will notice that it dramatically doesn't match your skin - and vice versa.
Reply:Yellow and pinkish undertones are opposite...yellow is warm while pink is cool.

There are several ways to tell, although some people (myself included) are truly neutral. You can be fair-skinned with warm undertones and be dark-skinned with cool undertones.

People with warm (yellow or olive) undertones usually look best in gold jewelry and warm colors like olive green, orange, and off-white. People with cool (pink or blue) undertones look best in silver jewelry and colors like blue, purple, and pure white.

Another way to tell is to turn your wrist over and look at the veins. If they appear greenish-blue, you have warm undertones. If they are purplish-blue, you have cool undertones.

If you look good in gold and silver, can wear about any color, and your veins just look plain blue, you are probably neutral.

As far as foundations, it would probably be easiest for you to look for a foundation that breaks its colors out by cool, warm and neutral. L'Oreal True Match is a great foundation and is available in many shades for all types of undertones.
Reply:1.) You can pinch the skin at your elbow and if it turns yellowish right after you let go you have warm skin, if it turns bluish or pinkish you have cool skin. 2.) I have always heard to wear the opposite shade of your skin tone. Ex. I have cool, pinkish skin and I wear a makeup w/ a a yellowish tint. this balances out your skin so the pink or yellow is not over whellming. 3.) Biege is more pinkish, Ivory is more yellowish

Skin problem, urgent help pl..?

i have dry skin, and in some areas the skin is dark and really rough like on my elbows.. i have tried moisturising creams, but they don seem to work..

i need some advice..

thanks.
Skin problem, urgent help pl..?
Dry skin is the culprit, along with a tendency to lean on your elbows frequently (try to get out of this habit). Dead skin cells tend to accumulate on your elbows and are difficult to remove (as humans, this is an area of our bodies prone to callous for protective reasons. Our elbow joints are important and our skin and fat layer are very thin here). do NOT stop using the creams, but start using lemon juice. The acid will loosen the dead cells and lemon has a natural bleaching capability. Rub lemon juice onto your elbows once a day. After 15 minutes, scrub with a hot towel. You will notice a difference in 2 weeks, give or take.
Skin problem, urgent help pl..?
Use a high quality skin cream (talk to your pharmacist). Also try a pumice stone on your elbows. But be careful you don't use it too much as it will hurt.
Reply:try sheaafricaorganics.com shea butter. they have different types. i tried it for my son's ashy skin and it works very well. i also tried their foot oil, magnificient
Reply:use Heparsulf a homyopathic medicine it will help ok
Reply:just keep moisturising. if you could get hold of some pure shea nut butter/cream and moisturise about three times a day you'll start to see some changes

Skin tags on armpits, caused by shaving?

I have small brown patches of raised dry skin, almost like little skin tags, on my armpits. They aren't painful but are quite noticeable, particularly where they cluster together, and I feel very conscious of them. I went to the doctors a few years ago when I first started getting them and she stated there was nothing I could do?
Skin tags on armpits, caused by shaving?
These are harmless and can be removed medically by laser or you can pinch the blood out of them and whilst doing so tie them off with nylon line or similar . After a few days they will drop off. They are caused by the skin rubbing together and also appear at the top of the inner thighs. Hope this helps.
Skin tags on armpits, caused by shaving?
I developed skin tags on different parts of my body while pregnant with my first child, and my OB/GYN said I could have them removed if I wanted to. I chose not to (why not? you ask... I don't know...) I'm pregnant again and have one on my pit now, and have full intentions of having them removed after I give birth. Maybe you should try another doctor, because if a mole can be removed, why not a skin tag?
Reply:Oooh I've got them too, I'll be watching for solutions!
Reply:most skin tags are flesh colored and appear where clothes rub
Reply:are they almost like flat skin tags almost like red round zits? becuase i have them and started using lemon juice on them and changed my deoderant and wetn to a natural deoderant and they seem to be fading!

good luck.

Skin Burns?

Can skin burns peel out overtime? Can they possibly lead to skin cancer ?
Skin Burns?
Yes, severe sunburn can lead to cancer. I had sun poisoning twice. I would stay out in the sun shirtless all day, like a fool. I make sure I go to the dermatologist once a year to have my moles checked and the rest of my body checked for skin cancer. Thank God, I didn't have it.

Skin discoloration cream?

I just got a skin discoloration cream from avon. I was just wondering if these types of products really work (not the exact brand, but skin discoloaration cream in general) and if so.. how do they work?
Skin discoloration cream?
skin discoloration creams are skin lightening/fading creams.. they fade the hyperpigmentation or dark skin spots

I had blackhead around my nose and zits around my check.

I also have combination skin, that is my "T"zone is oily and my other skin zone is normal.

1) I wan to ask is it okay to use two different cleaner for my skin like,

for my "T" zone, i use meant for oily skin product and my other part of face, i just use the normal skin care product.

2)Also, can you all giv me some tips about how to get rid of blackhead that around my nose and the oily skin at my "T" zone face?

3) Can i use the combination of skin care product like for scrub, i use St.Ives Apricot Scrub, and for cleaner, i use Ginvera Green Tea Complete Cleaner.

Does GINVERA Marvel Gel with Green Tea

Emollient %26amp; Exfoliating Gel can rub off the REALLY STUBBORN blackhead on my nose?

4)Or u all can suggest some skin care product that effective on blackhead and oily face.

Can i use two different brand of cleaner for my skin?Plz answer my question.... I really need your answers....
yeah, you can, just make sure they're both non-comegenic [means they won't block pores]. can i recommend "cetaphil" cleanser, by "galderma"!? its great for sensitive skin because its color-free and perfume-free. about the blackheads though, try "boir茅" pore strips!

yes u can you different brands

Reply:You can use 2 different brands but not at the same time ... you can only wash your face twice a day ... I suggest you use the normal facial wash at night and the oily wash durign the day ... it depends on you though ... and use oil absorbing sheets to rub on your face during the day ... it lasts a long time ... i use 24/7 Oil Control Blotting Tissues hope this helps!
Reply:I wouldn't use two different cleansers at the same time. I would order proactiv. It works great, and it's for any kind of skin. Just never pick at your face. It will leave scars.
Reply:Usually using two different products makes the other one act up. It will probably just make your problem worse

I would highly recommend you to go to a Dermatologist. They do miracles. I suffered from acne for 5 years, and my acne is cured by using Accutane. I am not kidding. This is not a commercial. The bad side of this pills is that it has horrible side effects like depression, so the Dermatologist would tell what medication is best for you. I wish I have visited the Dermatologist earlier. Although my acne is cured, I have little holes in my face. So the sooner you go the less scars you are going to have.
Skin problem?
nope i have no idea wat is going on with u..srry
Reply:use an acne fighting facial cleanser. Could try Nutragena
Reply:Have you tried Clearasil it really works

Trust me bye
Reply:Use Proactive before you go to see a Dermatologist and dish out way too much money. It worked for me.

Skin care suggestions?

I have weird skin. After I wash my face (lately I've been using the complete clinique skin care regemine) my forehead completely dries out and becomes flaky while the rest of my face becomes an oil slick, how the heck can I balance all of this out while trying to diminish my acne (the occasional break out once a month)? Thanks for your help!
Skin care suggestions?

i have a few tips which can help you out

1. try washing ur face wit luke warm water.

2. if ur using a soap/liquid soap to wash you face first try forming a lather on ur hand n den use it al over your face rather dan applyind d soap or liquid soap directly on your face.

3. dont dry out ur skin wit a towel let it dry naturally.

4. for d acne-try scrubbin ur face with a tomato once in two days it removes al the dead cells n dirt n if u have long nails trim dem off cos dis wil help reduce d irritation on ur skin.

5.drink lots of water n have a clean diet.

Reply:Avoid toilet soaps. Just use turmuric powder and sandal paste. Instead of hot water, use cold water and always rub from bottom to top.
Reply:what I used to do is use Nozema on my face from about the age of 13 and i never had a problem. You wash your face with soap and water, as hot as you can stand it to rinse it and then put noxzema on it and then rinse it off with more hot water, then rinse with cold water and then blot dry. It feels real refreshing. Just try it about a week and I think you will notice the difference. Good Luck.
Reply:Try going to a salon which uses Dermalogica. Most of them do free face mapping which will seperate your face into different zones and skin types. Most salons will try to pressure you into buying some product from them but my wife buys it for 20% off online from Salus face and body.
Reply:Sounds like Seborrheic Dermatitis. There is a link below . You can find more info if you google it, I can never remember how to spell it so had to look it up again. :o)

Avocado %26amp; Honey Face Mask (For dry skin)

2 tablespoons of avocado

2 tablespoons honey

1 egg yolk

Mash up the avocado, add the honey and egg. Mix it all together. Apply to face.

Also just try avocado works great for skin keep on skin for 15-20 min ( i use it on my eyes too its supposed to get rid of puffy dark eyes and its a great wrinkle preventor)

Gentle Facial Cleanser

1/2 cup oatmeal or cornmeal

plain yogurt (add enough yogurt to form a paste)

For a gentle facial cleanser mix ingredients, smooth over entire face avoiding eye area. Wash off with warm water.

Oatmeal is highly absorptive, hypoallergenic, and helps to soften skin. Oats have the best amino acid balance of all the cereal grains (amino acids work as water-binding agents in skin care products). Oats have also been clinically shown to help heal dry, itchy skin.

Banana Supreme Facial Mask

(dry skin)

2 medium bananas

* honey optional

Mash bananas with a fork...dont over mash or it will be too runny. Add honey* if desired. Smooth over skin, let sit for 10 minutes, rinse off with cool water.

I think the dr. removed too much skin when he recircumcised my 14 month old son.?

my son was circumcised when he was 1 day old.Not enough skin was removed. The skin was still attached over halfway down the head of his penis. It could not be pulled back. The pediatrition kept saying he was fine. My husband and I took our son to a urologist and he suggested that our son should be recircumcised. He was recircumcised 1 month ago at 14 months. Now im worried that this dr. removed too much skin. There is only a small amount of loose skin on the top side of his penis when soft. there is no loose skin on the bootom side of his penis when soft(the part toward his scrotum).Where is the skin going to come from when he has an erection? Is this going to cause him problems when he has an erection? Is this going to make him uncomfortable? Also, he has crosshatch marks or bumps from the stitches. Will these smooth out? Of course i asked the dr. these questions already. The answer: he will be fine. Is the dr. right? Im afraid I made a mistake having him recircumcised. Please HELP.
I think the dr. removed too much skin when he recircumcised my 14 month old son.?
We had our son recircumcised at around that same age, because he had too much loose skin, as a result of swelling after the first circumcision.

He also had crosshatch marks, and they went away.

As for the extra skin -- well, we wanted to get rid of extra skin, so we did not think about whether there was too little afterwards... Still, I think that if there is not enough skin, the skin will stretch and grow with the kid. I would not worry about it.

On the other hand, I would not trust the doctor -- of course he would not admit to having made a mistake. Like I said, I would not be concerned, but if you are, then you should ask a different doctor.

-----------Additional info------------

The marks looked exactly as you described: like a series of bumps along the stitch line. Neither my husband nor I remember how long it took for them to disappear.

Unfortunately, that's all we really remember (aside from being very nervous about the whole thing!)
I think the dr. removed too much skin when he recircumcised my 14 month old son.?
go to another doctor, and if you have to, even another one.
Reply:My doctor has said that they leave some extra skin, and that the whole circumcision process is an art, every doctor does it differently.

I ask my doctor every time I go about it, but he keeps re-assuring me that the circumcision is fine.

I also was told to push down on the skin and clean and wipe off the white skin looking stuff, and eventually it will look completely normal.
Reply:I would see another Dr. to be safe! Best of luck...pass your story on...maybe it wont happen to another child. Poor thing...

Do African People Get Skin Cancer?

I saw on the news today that we are now to wear denim or thick wool to save our skin from the sun. What?

Apparently sunscreen isn't enough (thanks for telling me this after the absolute fortune I have spent on it over the last ten years), and that the only way to be safe is to stay out of the sun or to wear really thick clothing.

So I'm wondering, do people in really hot countries suffer from the same skin cancer problems as we are being told about? And what about those from third world countries? I don't see footage of them walking around in thick clothing...

Does your skin colour determine how susceptible you are to skin damage from the sun?
Do African People Get Skin Cancer?
Yes...We can get cancer too but we do get protection from the melanin in our skin.

Plus some Africans do wear a lot of clothes and although they call it "Traditional clothes" I think this was so designed to cover up and block out some of the rays.

Also, it seems that we are more likely to develop skin cancer while living in climates where we don't have the sun all the time. The body's resistance gets low in cold climates so when we get some sun or we go to tropical places...We are just as much at risk as white skin people.
Do African People Get Skin Cancer?
Aes both africain and other people who live in hot countries can get skin cancer and that is why their are certaun times in the day they keep they keep in the shade'skin cancer does not choose skin types it can affect any one.no matter what country they come from. even a slight knock can start it off

Need Help With My Skin!?

I have a skin problem, im a dark brown skinned male and I have extreme dark spots on my face I take baths every day, ive used every skin cream, skin scrub you can think of and nothing works, I want an even tone for my face, I hate my dark spots any suggestions?
Need Help With My Skin!?
You may not want to hear this but you may need to use a foundation. The only other option is laser surgery and that is expensive and may leave scaring. Especially since you are male you will want to use a very high end foundation. The reason for high end is because it is not noticeable once you apply it. Look up beeroyalproducts.com and go to their cosmetics section. Find their liquid mineral foundation. Find the color that matches your skin tone. This foundation will not be noticeable once you blend it in and will last all day.

Skin tone question?

My skin is looking worse and worse as the winter goes on. The area around the bridge of my nose and my cheeks are very blotchy and I can't seem to even it out. Are there any products that will help with this or any natural remedies for uneven skin tone? Any suggestions / tips would be great. Thanks!
Skin tone question?
Try exfoliating with a gentle scrub. If you notice the uneven patches just in the winter then it's most likely dried out skin that needs to be sloughed off. I also have combination skin so instead of using a moisturizer on my whole face I just use it on the areas that are dry and either leave it off the areas that get oily or apply a thin layer and while it's still damp pat some of it off with a towel. As for make-up, I rarely wear any, except for foundation which is Loreal's True Match. Some people with oily skin tend to breakout from it, but so far it works for me. A pressed powder or a mousse foundation might work better for evening things out.

Combination skin is patches of dry and oily skin on various parts of your face. You said you don't have any dry areas, so you may very well just have normal skin, which can get oily as well.
Skin tone question?
use vaseline for the dry areas
Reply:Mineral makeup will help! It totally evens out my skintone and it's good for your skin too.
Reply:Dove skin brightining cleanser/moisturizer
Reply:Always wash your face in something gentle...you may be having an allergic reaction to something...plain old white Dove is the best stuff for your skin (my dermatologist, years ago, suggested it)...use a "non-commedigenic" (means "won't clog pores") lotion..anything greasy is a no-no..use sun screen even in winter (those rays are still harsh!)...and you may want to see a dermatologist just to make sure what is causing your extra-dry skin...windburn..and being in "dry heat" all day indoors can really play havoc with your skin....and as you get older, your skins needs will change...you have to learn to change with them...
Reply:I think the cold weather is making lighter areas on your face, as you may stay in the house more to avoid the cold. All you need is sun. That has happened to me a few times and I really hated it. So go out and do something in the sun (yea I know its cold but it will help). Go skiing or rock climbing, something outdoorsy.
Reply:Make sure to moisturize a lot in the winter when skin is most dry. I use Olay's daily mositurizer with SPF built in it. I use it in the morning before makeup application and at night after I shower and before sleeping. Also, a little powder will help to even out skin tone. Just a light powder, no too heavy. I love Clarins wet/dry powder and MACs powder.

Skin Problem?

i went swimming with my friends right, and u know that if u stay in the pool for too long your hands start to get "wrinkly" right, well then it starts to peal, so yeah that happened to me and my friends but there hand heal in the first day but its been a week for me and my hand skin riped out allot and isn't healing so i was wondering will my skin every heal can i do something to help the prosses???
Skin Problem?
Yes, you poor thing. I have had a similar experience. First. Do not continue to peel the skin. Second. Try to stay out of the water/swimming pool to give your hands a chance to dry out and heal. Third. Do apply an antibiotic cream and cover a much on your hands as possible with bandaids or bandages. Change if they get wet from washing your hands. Keep them clean at all times. Fourth. Use soft cotton gloves to sleep in after you apply coco butter or mineral oil to your hands very generously. Five Next time do not stay in the pool for that long without breaks for your skin to dry out. Sixth. You can start a supplement of Vitamin E which is excellent for your skins health.
Skin Problem?
uhh go to the doctor
Reply:try using virgin coconut oil made from the philippines.
Reply:dude see a doctor or go to web m.d.but it would be a whole lot better if you went to a doctor
Reply:To be on the safe side, go see a dermatologist (skin doctor). You may be in need of medication before it really gets out of hand (no pun intended). Be safe -- go to the Doc.
Reply:i use vasaline for everything, so i would reccomend it. but you should go to the doctor..perhaps you had an allergic reaction to the bacteria in the water.
Reply:Just don't peal it. Put Neosporin ointment on your hands before you go to bed. You can also try a fragrance-free lotion like Vaseline Intensive Care.
Reply:You need a dermatologist. I have never had my skin peel off from being in water and you could get infection. You problem may be more than having your hands in water too long.

Skin & sea: Does the water of the sea help to heal irritated skin?

Which minerals %26amp; elements help to heal the skin?
Skin %26amp; sea: Does the water of the sea help to heal irritated skin?
I had a salt bath once for my eczema and it dried up my allergies soon after! But don't overdo it, too much salt water can dry up your skin and make it look flaky.
Skin %26amp; sea: Does the water of the sea help to heal irritated skin?
The water helps, but it all come from the salt.
Reply:supposedly it contains anti-oxidents. So yes it does.
Reply:Oh yes, it definitely helps. I know a case where 2 guys had a motorcycle accident, and had sustained broken bones and all kinds of bruises.

One guy who jumped into the sea right after the accident (happened near the beach) to wash himself, never had any scars on his skin. However, the other guy who went home to wash himself even after 15 years you can see all the scars on his face and on his body.
Reply:Yes, it can help, try the salt of the dead sea-if you find it take a bath.

Sunscream for indian oily skin?

hi everyone...

I am an indian and have a wheatish complexion. My skin gets tanned very quickly..but the problem is that i have an oily skin. I used to apply lakme sunscream few years ago but that used to make my skin oily in few hours only ...is there any product for my oily skin that can protect me from getting tanned??
Sunscream for indian oily skin?
Olay and Neutrogena is really good! Since you have oil skin, try and get oil absorbing paper it really works well together.
Sunscream for indian oily skin?
Olay is a good choice. I use that..it really works.

Also there are a good range of products from Banana boat. Check out those products aswell. Remember one thing u shud always buy a cream with a higher SPF..inorder to prevent ur skin from tanning.

Another inportant tip...as soon as you go home wash ur hands, face, neck and all the areas that are exposed to sun with cold water. By doing this immediately..u will wash away all the chemicals that settled on ur skin due to pollution. This prevents tan too.

Once every week wash ur self with raw potato jucie or mix 1tsp of honey with 2-3 drops od lime concentrate and apply it on tanned areas. You can see the difference urself. Hone and lime are natural belaching agents for ur skin.

good luck.
Reply:I'm indian too, and I have oily skin. I use Aveeno spf 30, it works well!

Skin lightner?

Ok id like to no which skin lightner is the best in america. That is from my forehead to the bottum of my stomach cause summer and stuff even at walmart would be good and some tips to lighten my skin and keep it healthy if u have any thx
Skin lightner?
I give a list of products on this page:

Skin lightner?
I can tell you which actives do work. It will be up to you to find the products that contain these actives or you can get our skin lightening cream.

It is important that you understand what are the mechanisms involved, so here it goes:

Skin lighteners, skin whiteners and skin brighteners are different names given to a type of product that decreases skin pigmentation. Skin color is mainly determined by the amount and type of the melanin in the skin.

There are two kinds of people looking for skin lighteners: those who have irregular pigmentation, resulting from age spots and/or melasma, and those who are not content with the color of their skin (too yellow, too dark).

The short story:

There are several mechanisms by which a substance can help to lighten the skin color but most of them work by suppressing melanin synthesis Some chemicals are very effective but can be irritating or are known to have undesirable side effects. For example, strong chemicals may end up bleaching the skin permanently and irregularly, or increasing pigmentation in spots, both permanent unwanted effects. So it is very important to prevent these bad results. The best way is to avoid using strong chemicals like hydroquinone, especially in types of skin known to react badly, like African American and dark Latino skin.

Because melanin synthesis increases as a response to stress of several kinds, like UV and oxidants, avoid the sun and use sunblock. You should also know that skin lighteners will not destroy existing melanin, so you will have to wait until your skin renews itself to be able to see the lighter skin.

There are a number of excellent natural and synthetic chemicals that can help. If you have isolated hyperpigmented spots, use the skin lightener only on those areas. The same if you have melasma, a type of skin hyperpigmentation caused by hormonal changes brought about by pregnancy or the use of "the pill".

Some excellent actives are

Azeloyl glycine (will also accelerate skin renewal), kojic acid dipalmitate (an easy to use and stable version of kojic acid), arbutin (the active chemical in bearberry extract), licorice root extract, gamma aminobutyric acid, melatonin, glutathione and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. By using several of these actives, your chances of success increase, because melanin content of your skin will decrease through inhibition of several steps rather than just one.

The combination of N-acetyl glucosamine and niacinamide, besides increasing synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid, also decreases hyperpigmentation, age spots and uneven melanin distribution.

If you want to make your life easier, get Skin Actives Scientific "skin lightening cream", which contains liquorice, glutathione, arbutin, melatonin, MAP and kojic acid dipalmitate, and more.

Remember the following rules:

Rule number 1: be patient, do not expect fast results, because only the new skin will be lighter.

Rule number 2: do not expect to look like Michael Jackson. His skin is sick, having lost its natural melanocytes. He probably had vitiligo, an immune disease in which the body kills its melanocytes, leading to white spots, and his doctors probably killed the rest to lead to an homogeneous white skin that lacks melanin, a sort of artificial albinism.

Good luck and best wishes

Hannah
