Dry, Itchy, and Sensitive Skin! I need help.?

I am 20 years old, and have light tan skin. I have extremely Dry, Itchy, and Sensitive Skin! I have suffered from folliculitis and many times after I shave my legs turn red and bumpy. Soon I will have laser hair removal done, but for now I need something. After I shave my skin itches for days. Right now I am using St. Ives Extra Dry Skin Lotion but I am still itching. Any advice, tips or suggestions are accepted (no oily lotions please).

Thank you so much
Dry, Itchy, and Sensitive Skin! I need help.?
I recommend Aveeno skin care products. I use all their products from facial moisturizer, body lotion and soap. I suggest that you use unscented products since you have follicultis. The fragrance is the culprit for the itchiness!
Dry, Itchy, and Sensitive Skin! I need help.?
contact a dermatologist.
Reply:Try putting some baby oil in the bath, and then have a nice relax in the tub.
Reply:my skin calms down after using thermal water

i prefer avene but there more other firms: vichy, uriage, bioderma

i also use every day an emollient cream to prevent eczemas
Reply:I agree with Sally, try some baby oil.
Reply:I use straight jojoba oil, when shaving, it's a nourishing, non-greasy oil. It holds moisture in, and is good to use directly after shower too. I have dry sensitive skin too, in the winter time, I also use Aveeno, menthol lotion. It cools the itch right away!! It's awesome!!
Reply:do not shave your legs, or avoid it for a few days. grow the hairs to 2mm and then wax them instead of shaving. in the meantime go to the chemist and ask for aqueous cream, and use that instead of cream and soap. it is quite thick and if you mix it with water it makes a good fragrance free and soap free 'soap'. The St Ives could be irritating you if you are very sensitive as it may contain fragrances and chemicals.
Reply:The only thing that works for me is Aveeno lotion with oatmeal. It is a beige with green on it and it is the only thing I use because it is not oily and is for sensitive skin. It can be expensive, so I use the Walmart brand and it is awesome.
Reply:Baby oil works wonders! After you shave, run a warm bath, nothing major, even just a few cups worth....and rinse yourself off. Don't dry off, rather pat yourself off if you don't want to 'air dry'. I would recommend Jergen's lotions. The others are not bad recommendations, but I am speaking from my personal experience. I am 21, hispanic, female, and I had your problem with really dry skin. As for the folliculitis, I am sure you have tried many products, so I don't know what to tell you about that. Have you tried St. Ives Medicated(not the lotion, the face wash...works on all parts of the body)? It's inexpensive and I know it helped my brother, he had that.
Reply:Try "Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy." It's dermatologist recommended Look for the words "Plus Intensive Repair Lotion" on the bottle or tube. I buy it at Wal*Mart, but they sell it most everywhere. Good luck!
Reply:Eucerin or Avenno work great. I have very dry sensitive skin

I now use and sell Mary Kay and of course would recommend those too but that's what I used before oh and Luburdurm (sp)lotion worked okay too. See if they have website sometime they will send you samples or coupons.
Reply:Dry skin is a big thing. One of the problem is because we wash in chlorinated water everyday. Chlorine is a bleaching agent and it strips away the natural skin oil. All the cream and lotion we put on is not the same and it is a after application. I do have dry skin myself and I use shower filter. It really help is you case is same as mine. Use shower filter and also apply the cream to see it that works. I myself uses shower filter and finds it to work for me, but still I use cream.

Skin question?

Okay, so ever since I can remember (even in my baby pictures!) my skin has been weird. My legs are pale, but not very pale, and this still happens when I'm tan anyway. So, my skin randomly gets like blotchy maybe? I can't really explain it. It's kind of like what it would look like if you could see all my blood vessels, but they're not my blood vessels. It happens at random times. I remember usually at the beginning of gym class when I was little it would always happen. A lot of times when I get warmed up it starts to disappear. Does ANYONE have ANY idea what I'm talking about or how to help?
Skin question?
What you are describing sounds like livedo reticularis. This is condition that is not harmful. In some situations it can be related to some diseases of the connective tissue such as lupus or mixed connective tissue disease, but these are the more rare events. These diseases can be ruled out by a simple blood test. You should go see your dermatologist to get the blood tests done.

Good Luck!

Skin is tender to touch, i'm cold, tired and have no appetite.?

Previous reocurring problems: dry skin (controlled by body butter), nasal drip (controlled sometimes by using prescription nasal spray), over production of stomach acid

Starting last night about 2 hours after dinner i felt really tired and cold. When i woke up this morning my neck and back were (still are) very stiff. i feel warm but my hands and feet are freezing. I feel very tired. my skin is tender to touch all over, especially my neck, stomach and back. i used body butter virtually everywhere and it helped but it's still tender to touch. the feeling i have inside my body is similar to having very bad sunburn and it almost gives you chills, but not quite. someone mentioned it could be a fool allergy or just nerves. Please help me out with suggestions so i know if it persists how to approach my doc if i need to. i feel i may have a temperature as well but wont know until i get home. Thanks - STeph
Skin is tender to touch, i'm cold, tired and have no appetite.?
Sounds to me like you have a virus that has been going around. Its symptoms are body aches and sore muscles followed by nausea and chills. Some have even reported slight head ache and vomiting along with feeling very weak and over tired.

For most all the length of this has been around a week to 8 days. Some have reported it to leave and return for a few days.

Take a few Advil and get extra sleep. Eat smaller meals and more often rather than big meals at one sitting. This will keep you nourished but less likely that you will have vomiting and acid problems from lack of food in your body.

Its a tuff one but you should be all good soon. Make sure to monitor your temp for the next few days and medicate with fever reducer if above 100 degrees.

Good luck!

Reply:I think you should definitely go to the doctor as soon as possible and tell him your symptoms.
Reply:Sounds like a light case of the flu. I get the same symptoms occasionally. Take it EZ, take vitamin C and Zinc, take a hot shower and some Tylenol PM and sleep it off.

Skin problems!?

i have really weird skin. there's a patch of dry skin on my face, but the rest is oily. i don't get that many pimples, but when i do, they end up scarring my face. they never go away, so now i look like i have a lot of pimples. everything's a mess. please, help!!
Skin problems!?
Honey, you need to see a dermatologist. Make an appointment. In the meantime, check this website.

Treatment at home can help reduce acne flare-ups.

Wash your face (or other affected skin) gently once or twice a day.

Do not squeeze pimples, because that often leads to infections, worse acne, and scars.

Use water-based skin care products that gently clean your skin. Avoid products such as milky cleansers, cold creams, lipsticks, and lip glosses that contain oils.

Use nonprescription medicated creams, soaps, lotions, and gels to treat your acne. Always read the label carefully to make sure you are using the product correctly.

Skin problems!?
Consult a dermatologist. Use soaps with no chemicals (such as cetaphil). Use less moisturizer (with no chemicals like cetaphil) on the oily part and use more on the dry part.
Reply:Visit a dermatologist... See what he/she perscribes. Or, if seeing a doctor is not an option, I suggest trying ProActiv.
Reply:Check out a skin care line called Joey new york.. they have alot of great products that should help you.
Reply:Yikes. I think you should see a dermatologist. First I thought maybe you have combination skin, but if you get acne that doesn't go away for a long time and scars, that is cystic, and unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do about it with over-the-counter treatments. Please see a derm and hopefully they can sort you out before you get any more scars.
Reply:I can relate! I have what sounds like a similar problem. It may be eczema. As many have suggested, see a dermatologist to find out about those scarring pimples. A derm can also assit with the removal of those scars. Don't worry, help is just a doctor's visit away!
Reply:I have the SAME problem as you!!! I recently got Olay facial scrub and Olay daily moisturizer and my dry patch is no longer there. Also the facial scrub has also helped out my acne. I know it's hard but try all of the different over the counter products before you take drastic measures like pills or expensive products. Good luck and remember you are not alone!

What is the best skin care regime??

I have sensitive skin, and a lot of the treatments i have used have caused my skin to break out in rashes, yet those for sensitive skin dont really clean my skin very well.... anyone have any suggestions?? I was recommended Arbonne by a friend in America, but we dont have that here in Australia.
What is the best skin care regime??
Your best skin care begins and ends with a balanced diet and good nutrition. Weed out the fried, fatty foods, and reduce the heavy dairy foods. Eat lots of fibers and drink milk if you can tolerate it. Rub a little high end age reversing eye cream and facial cream on your face every morning but spend the money for a better brand from the pharmacy or the high end department stores. Use a mask at least once a month. Steam is good too, if you have a sauna. When you sleep you could practice good skin maintainence by first applying a light film of e-oil from a liquid vitamin e pill after poking the pill lightly with a pin to seep the serum out. Take care by keeping in a routine, the best care you can do is to use a good regime for all your health and nutrition needs; double for your mental health. Remember to look in the mirror and appreciate your own beauty. Don't focus on the surface when you look in the mirror, find your inner beauty and allow your beauty to be reflected. You can try various products but the products with the age reversal verbage tend to be more promising. Keep your hair very clean. Hair carries a lot of oil, in order to keep the oil from your face keep the oily hair away. Splash a nice spritz on your face seven or twelve times a day, or use an alcohol swipe and freshen up, or witch hazel; whatever you do use the cleansing practice often. Stay away from make up or wear it lightly. A little sun (not a lot) helps to dry up the oils too. Good luck.
What is the best skin care regime??
Try Nu Skin
Reply:If you have sensitive skin, you need to know first what ingredient you are sensitive to. Its best to consult your derma before using any product, so that you'd know what particular ingredient to avoid =)
Reply:Actually, Arbonne just started in Australia. Go to http://www.arbonne.com/company/internati...

Since it is new, the best thing to do would be to become a consultant yourself, that way you can get the products at a discounted rate, plus you could sell it and make money. Ofcourse you don't have to sell it if you become a consultant, you could just get the products cheaper. But since it is a ripe market there, I would sell it. If you do decide to check it out and become an independent consultant, feel free to log in under me. My consultant number is 17129723. You should first try the NutriminC RE9, but if you find that makes your skin too oily then go with the Intelligence set. However, in the intelligence set watch out for the Masque with thermal fusion. That thermal fusion gets hot!

Anyone else pregnant having skin issue's ?

Hi everyone I just wanted to ask I'm a few days away from going into my second trimester. All of a sudden like literally over night my skin has gotten really rough and blotchy, and red and breaking out. I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. I mean before I got pregnant I had few break outs here and there and the occasional dry skin patch but never this nasty red blotchy skin all over my face, oh and all of a sudden these really dark circles under my eyes and I'm getting enough sleep. Anyone else going through this or went through this? Anyway to help clear and even, and smooth my skin back?
Anyone else pregnant having skin issue's ?
yes yes yes i am 19 weeks and thats sounds just like me talking!! what i have is Savlon to dry out the pimples and this other cream that you apply to dry skin i dont know what it is called but they just gave it to me in the Pharmacy! just go ask them adn they will give you all the right products, make sure you tell them you are pregnant

as for the eyes if you are still feeling tired then after getting enough sleep you may need to take iron tablets but you have to see you LMC first
Anyone else pregnant having skin issue's ?
More hormones are kicking in. Wash your face more often and I use an apricot scrub to help with the break outs. You may also want to get a lotion specifically designed for your face that will not clog your pores but will moisturize.
Reply:ohhhh my goodness girl let me tell you what..I soo feel ya...I am pregnant with my 5th and ohh my god I am like having such the same issue...I wish I could tell ya what would help, but I havent really found anything. I know anti bacterial stuff they say helps.
Reply:I didn't have what you have, but my skin is now allergic to lotions after my pregnancy! I know that's a symptom of pregnancy, what you described. Sorry, it should go away after your pregnancy!
Reply:my step mom does so no worries!
Reply:use skin moisturizer, cocoa butter

Skin care in the sun?

i am going to florida for 3 weeks and have never spent so much time in the sun before and will probably be in the sun all day, every day. my skin is very pale, sensitive and not used to the heat of the sun. what can i use to help my skin not get sun-burnt and dehydrated or dry??

thanks
Skin care in the sun?
wear sunscreen at all times, get a water resistant one if you can but anyways, re-apply after swimming. Especially ion the first few days, sit in the sahde in the hottest times which is I think 11-3

Also if your skin is very sensitive, I'd advise getting the sun tan lotions from health shops which are better for the skin, (eg Living Nature does a good one, %26amp; also Green People's Edelwiess is a very goods one %26amp; Weleda).

Please have a look at these articles, will give you more info: (suncare advice for hyper-sensitive skin)

Skin care in the sun?
a burka
Reply:I always get factor 80 for my kids when we go somewhere got....works a treat!!!
Reply:Normally I would say try to go to the tanning bed to get your skin ready but since I was just diagnosed w/ skin cancer, I highly advise against that. As you already know, keep sunscreen on at all times. Wear a hat, have some aloe vera ready, and just keep your skin very moisturized. You won't always know you are burning until it's too late; try to stay inside some too!
Reply:dress like a vampire...woman in black...or juz stay at home...
Reply:Limit your exposure to the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (hours of peak ultraviolet exposure).

Wear protective clothing, including a wide-brimmed hat, a long-sleeved shirt, and pants.

Wear sunglasses that block UV rays.

Use a sunscreen that has a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 Sunscreens that say "broad-spectrum" can protect the skin from ultraviolet A and B (UVA and UVB) rays. Sunscreens come in lotions, gels, creams, and ointments.

Use lip balm or cream that has sun protection factor (SPF) to protect your lips from getting sunburned or developing cold sores.
Reply:Get some factor 50, splash it on, then splash it on some more. I have just come back from Barbados and burnt my feet because I didn't splash on enough. I paid the price!

A big hat will help, as will some good sunglasses. Get a good sunblock for your lips, nose and ears. Get in the pool every so often to cool your skin (and slap on some more suncream!), and stay out of the sun between 11.30 and 1.30.

Enjoy!

I have a pretty nice looking face. However my skin is dry and I dont look good in sun. I have some acne marks in my face too. Is there any cream or lotion that would help my skin to shine better under the sun?

What is the difference between a skin tag and a mole?

I went to a dermatologist yesterday, and got a general skin exam. I have a few moles that i wanted to get checked out, just for good measure since skin cancer runs in my family. The nurse who was examining me was not particularily polite or interested in making me comfortable while she examined me, so when she said dismissivily, "thats a skin tag" about a bump that happens to be in an awkward area, I didn't question her. I have always had the mole/skin tag, and always believed it to be a mole. I read online that moles are something we are born with, and skin tags are developed later on, usually later in life (I'm 18), so I'm wondering if she could have been mistaken. I guess it only really matters since I plan to probably get it removed, and because moles have the possibility to become cancerous. Could she have been wrong, and what exactly is the difference between the two? Thanks.
What is the difference between a skin tag and a mole?
skin tags hang like tags. moles are like circular raised areas. you can get either removed easily. I don't think skin tags can become cancerous. I got my moles removed with a do it at home 20 minute herbal paste. I got it from here: www.wartmoleremover.co.uk Cheap and you can do it in the privacy of your own home
What is the difference between a skin tag and a mole?
skin tags hang from you body, moles dont.

How do i bleach skin???

I have been reading several posts about skin bleaching but i am still confused.can someone really explain to me how it is done and the effects of it.i have "multicolored" skin (my face is very light,my chest is noticeably darker, and my legs and arms are darker than my chest).i have scars that i would also like to hide.i am a cheerleader and the demand for beautiful toned skin is pressuring.

how do i bleach skin at home??

can someone help me puuuuhhhleeeze!!!thankyou!
How do i bleach skin???
Dont do it!

Visit a dermatologist who will advise you on how to even out your skin. Please, don't buy any crazy stuff and do it at home. In the meantime invest in a good foundation. Bare minerals is excellent for that type of thing.
How do i bleach skin???
DON'T but if u r use Toliet Duck. But seriously don't do its not good 4 your skin. And be proud of your skin who cares
Reply:two words - Micheal Jackson
Reply:why you wanna get bleached!

Nature gives you the perfect colour to survive in the world...

Black is the best colour,,, well survived in all weather conditions...
Reply:ask michael jackson.
Reply:Don't do it if you want to see the effects look at the crazy Michael Jackson. For those of you who don't remember he was BLACK. not anymore!!!
Reply:it wont work.... why dont you go out in the sun and cover up the places that are darker.... getting a tan will help cover up those scars also
Reply:stick with ur colour sometime bleaching could make it look worst than how it is right now u could be allergic to it so love the colour u have
Reply:im sorry but your stupid why would you want to go and do a thing like that i mena you are the way you are and you shouldnt want to change that your skin is problay beautiful and if you do that then youll end up looking like micheal jackson or something all deformed so judt dont do it believe me i know someone who did and know they look like a peguine
Reply:i wouldnt do that! not even professionally, they all have risks. and those risks coould be worse than the multicolor skin or scares. there is no safe way to lighten your skin!
Reply:it isnt a good idea to bleach anything at home!!! chances are, you'll just make things worse. if you're really serious about this, then go see a dermatologist.

Skin Cancer???

im 30 weeks pregnant with my first child. My great gran had skin cancer and my mother had skin cancer is there a greater chance of my child developing it as it has skipped generations?
Skin Cancer???
By and large the answer is; "no". Some people have a slight genetic predisposition to certain types of cancers, but most cancers (90% or more) are caused by environmental factors,

[Smoking, certain chemicals, exposure to particular things etc.]

Don't forget that your by skipping a generation you are "diluting" any genetic influence by three quarters. So your child's (potential) predisposition is almost certainly nullified. She has no more chance than anyone else in other words.
Skin Cancer???
l.d ask you gp about this,
Reply:dont worry about that at mo take it easy enjoy the pregnancy if it didnt affect you why should it affect your baby
Reply:There is a greater chance but make sure you protect your skin and use high factor sun cream and maybe you r G.P could do something.
Reply:go to doctor and have tests
Reply:both my gran and mum had skin cancer once and twice respectivly

this puts me and my kids at greater risk

i am not too worried as all i need to do is take greater care with putting on sun protection etc

also as soon as any moles appear or change appearance go to the doctors

i believe it is very rare for this type of cancer to be serious

it is very easy to treat

just relax

How to manage tight skin after burns...?

Last week, I goofed pretty bad and wound up with somewhere around 2nd degree burns on the back of my forefinger and hand from a hot grease accident.

The skin is now healing back, but right now it is in that "tight" stage where much of it is more scabarous than regular skin. Any time I flex my finger, the skin will crack and ooze.

Is there anything practical to help soften the skin and make it more flexible at a faster rate? I'm not worried about it "healing" faster, I just want the flexibility back so it doesn't split so easily,
How to manage tight skin after burns...?
2nd degree burns should be covered with a good healing gel and gauze to prevent infections and scarring.

Aloe and Vit E are good. If you leave the burn open to air it can become infected and deep tissue scarring can occur making your fingers stiff and painful when you use them.

When it isn't too painful, rubbing the areas with vit e or another creme often will reduce the swelling, scarring and help with the flexing of your fingers.
How to manage tight skin after burns...?
Aloe vera gel.......
Reply:Put loads of moisturiser on it. In fact. If you buy this palmer's cocoa butter it adds moisture and it helps heal it quicker and better and it reduces scars. So it's good all round. I swear that is the best thing ever invented. I had this huge scar on my head and it disappeared practically.

Skin Creams in hand luggage? Am oi Allowed Due To Skin Condition?

Ok, so i have a flight planned from the UK to San Francisco next week and have moderate-severe psoriasis and need to take moisteriser on the plane in my hand luggage to use throughout the flight or basically my skin becomes unbearably itchy, cracks and bleeds. I dont get my emolient from the doctor as it is cheaper to buy without prescription - so how do i get around this? Doctors letter maybe? Or because my flight changes in France to go to USA does this mean i can buy moisteriser when i change flights there? Anyone know for sure? As two people at the airline im booked with are telling me different things. Help!
Skin Creams in hand luggage? Am oi Allowed Due To Skin Condition?
check tsa.gov. I believe that there is an allowed minimum of "liquid-like" items that can be onboard with you. Prescriptions meds should be ok as long as the label matches the passenger.
Skin Creams in hand luggage? Am oi Allowed Due To Skin Condition?
if its for medication then yes
Reply:You'll have to get in touch with your airline. They might be able to make an exception in your case. A Dr's letter would be useful in your arguing!
Reply:only if it is a prescription with your name on it.
Reply:There are no liquids or gels allowed on the plane. Medications are allowed on the plane but only with Doctors Prescriptions. You can try to get a doctor to write you a letter on thier stationary and have the airline agents document the information i nthe record, but techinically, it's not allowed and they will not let you take it on board. It will all depend on the agent at the gate.
Reply:It has to be a prescription with your name on it. And you can't get some in France bc this is a global thing not just a UK. Flights in/out of US can't have lotions either
Reply:I'm afraid they are going to have you to squeeze the cream all over you before you have to board the plane . why? they want to make sure you use it. you know everyone in the security workfield are that desperate and paranoid these days.
Reply:I would be safe, and get a prescription, and make sure it has your full name on it as printed on your ticket. Screening agents at airport security do have some latitude, and you may get one who's in a generous mood, or you may get one who had a fight with his wife before coming to work and is just itching to bust someone. They'll almost certainly allow a prescription though.
Reply:i hird no shamop as well as skin cream as well as condinsha
Reply:Prescription medications are allowed, you may want to get a letter from your doctor. Also, yes medical medications of 4oz and under are allowed, please if any TSA says otherwise, ask for a supervisor and if it is ask for a screening manager, if all fails tell them to look it up in their SOP.

Skin Tips!! best tips to keep my skin clear!?
This is called the honey mask:

You will need PURE honey as it will dehydrate your skin and clear your blemishes and about half of a banana; the banana will moisturize your skin. Mix both together in a small bowl and put it on your face for 10 minutes, make sure you get it everywhere on your face especially the areas where you have the blemishes/acne.

After 10 minutes, rinse it off with a gentle cleanser (I recommend cetaphil or st. ives apricot cleanser because it washes away the dirt and oil on your face and cleans your face); also while you are rinsing your face, use luke warm water and then cold water to open and close your open to prevent acne.

After that, take some clean and clear persa gel 10 (works awesome!) and put that on before going to bed, next morning, rinse off and I swear your skin will feel sooo smooth and soft, also it will feel much more fresher and it will look radiant and clear your acne!

Also dont touch yoru skin because your hands contain natural oils on it which causes acne and oily skin, so avoid touching it!

And wash your face twice a day, morning and night

What is the best skin care product for oily skin w/out overdrying? Is ProActive ok??

I have oily skin but when I use "acne" products like Clean %26amp; Clear or Neutrogena, it makes my skin very dry %26amp; flaky (especially in winter!!) Do you know of a skin care product that will get rid of the oiliness but not leave it so dry? I have seen the ads for ProActive but it is rather pricey. If you tried this did it work for you?
What is the best skin care product for oily skin w/out overdrying? Is ProActive ok??
i use proactiv and it works for me.. it's no miracle-product, but it maintains what it needs to. it's not perfect, but i like it, and it really is worth the money i spent.
What is the best skin care product for oily skin w/out overdrying? Is ProActive ok??
I am using ProActive now, I have dry skin to begin with and it hasnt dried my skin out at all, this lotion that you put on after the toner says it may dry out your skin but it hasnt mine at all, it has actualy made it rather soft.

I have only used it for about 5 days and havent seen much of a difference yet, maybe it takes a week or so to work well.
Reply:If you are from the UK, try this one. It so natural and really great for your skin. I love it.

Reply:NO! do not get proactive... it made my face worse! I use clinique and it is amazing! i love it!
Reply:I've tried pro active for a year everyday and it didn't work for me. I thought it was a waste of money. Never got rid of my acne. Everybody is different though. It might work for you but I would try other things first before investing a bunch of money on it.
Reply:try washing ur face with dove n then moisturizing with esoterica cream. my doctor recommended it n it works wonders. u can find it at walgreens cvs ect.... its about 5-6 dollars. not too much oil n not dry just right. try n see.good luck
Reply:Even oily skin needs a moisturizer, but choose a light, watery fluid; this will be enough for your skin. Allow the moisturizer to sink in well and then absorb the excess with a tissue to prevent shine.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...

Itchy white bumps? dry skin, chicken skin or keratosis pilaris?

on my skin there are white spots, some of them are bumps, some are only marks on my skin. It's like goosebumps and my skin is incredibly sharp (lol) when i freak out or when it's cold. I call them PERMANENT GOOSEBUMPS. sometimes (Seldom) it's itchy, but normally not. what is this?
Itchy white bumps? dry skin, chicken skin or keratosis pilaris?
It may be keratosis pilaris which is what I have on my upper arms. I use KP Duty from Dermadoctor.com. It is not cheap but is the only thing that has worked for me (and I've been buying lotions and prescriptions and home remedies for over 10 years trying to fix it until I found this stuff a year and a half ago). Mine are soft now and barely noticeable unless you are trying to look for it.
Itchy white bumps? dry skin, chicken skin or keratosis pilaris?
Anti fungal cream may help .. it may be the start of a condition called morgellons .. MORGELLONS.ORG compare symptoms

it begins with an odd unbearably itchy rash that is mistaken for scabies .. antibiotics mainly tetracycline helps ( I have been on it for over a year but it doesn't clear it up totally .

you will need to purchase a handheld 30X lighted microscope before you see the doctor

I recently had a mole removed which turned out to be skin cancer-basal cell carcinoma-which doesn't normally spread. However, I am very young to have this type of cancer at just 22 and it puts me more at risk from other types of skin cancers. I'm very moley and my other moles are displaying symptoms of melonoma-i'm going to the docs first thing on monday to get them checked out.

i'm so scared and feel all alone, my bf split up with me and few weeks ago which just adds to the stress of everything. i can't stop worrying about it, any advice?
Skin Cancer scare?
Sorry for your recent diagnosis. I think you are very lucky however because knowledge is power. You are now educated and know what to look for as well because they are found early that just makes your treatments and diagnosis's easier. I do agree the unknown is pretty scary. But if you do have more cancerous moles they can easily be removed. You need to relax, your nerves are just heightened because of your last scare. Most moles are not cancerous at all you are probably just being paranoid. I know easier said than done but this is what my friends tell me when I get all freaked out and they are usually right, it is over nothing. Don't worry unless you have something to worry about. You will be fine.
Skin Cancer scare?
I also had a basal cell cancer removed at an early age (30). You definitely need to follow up with a dermatologist and have them follow you closely. They will do a thorough skin exam and based on what they see they'll be having you back at least 1/year.

Also, you should take your risk factors seriously and get proactive about you skin. You should be using sunscreen of %26gt; 15 with protection for both UVA and UVB (many don't cover both). Although the primary risk for melanoma is sunburns early in life, many people think that sun exposure now may activate abnormal melanocytes leading to melanoma.

Skin-- omg my skin is horrible?

are there any natural ways to help make your skin really pretty and clear... no acne or anything like that...thnx so much!
Skin-- omg my skin is horrible?
No. You have to live with your acne-intensive skin forever! And ever! No, just kidding. Try Nutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash to rid your face of pimple-causing oil, and Clearasil Ultra (you don't need a prescription for this or anything) to get rid of existing zits. But whatever you do, don't pop them! This will leave scars that ARE permanent, whereas acne is not. If you are strictly looking for "natural" ways, just wash your face with soap and water twice a day. And to make your skin vibrant and glowing, use Vitamin E (facial) cleanser by The Body Shop...it works wonders! But the #1 way to easily and naturally improve your skin is to eat right and exercise. Also, you must get proper sleep. These three things will improve not only skin, but the overall health and well-being of you as a whole. Good luck!
Skin-- omg my skin is horrible?
Nothing natural but I know something that would cure you,Accutane

Is there anyone interested in better skin care?

I see alot of people with questions about skin care and it seems like these days people only care about cheap prices rather than quality. I work with a company that owns a privately held skin care/cosmetics company that is in the top 5 prestige brands in the world. They have stuff for any kind of skin type out there and they are so sure their stuff works they offer money back if it doesn't so my question is, is there anyone who would be interested in actually interested in better skin care that actually is proven and guarenteed to work? If so let me know and I can give you access to a sight where you can purchase some. No one has anything to lose because you can get your money back if you don't like it. Whatever anyone believes this is not to benefit myself it's just that it has made a drastic difference for me and my family and friends and i'd like to offer that to other people. Is anyone looking for good quality skin care?

Does writing on your skin with a sharpie really gives you skin cancer???

well, im pretty sure that if you write on your hands with a sharpie that wont like automaticaly give you like skin cancer, but if you do that a lot would it give you skin cancer, or some other type of skin damage???
Does writing on your skin with a sharpie really gives you skin cancer???
No, you wash your hands and body so often that the skin cells just fall off (with the ink), that's why permanent marker isn't so permanent on skin.

Skin tone and make-ups...?

Apparently skin colour corresponds with three browns, in various shades of course: Russet Brown, Olive Brown and Sallow Brown. Even my skin which is very pale indeed, is infact (I believe) a very light shade of Russet Brown. This said, I'm actually very interested in avant guard make-ups at the minute and for some of my make ups I am blending white with my foundation.

I was wondering if someone knows how I might go about finding an appropriate shade of powder for contouring?

The products I've come accross don't appear to correspond (at least in colour description/name) to the three browns mentioned above. Even so, if I should find a light shade of Russet Brown, will this still work with the white in my foundation?
Skin tone and make-ups...?
check this out:

good make-up, 2.
Skin tone and make-ups...?
I'm not really sure about this skin color in browns. I'm a makeup artist and I mix foundation colors from red, blue, and yellow. Olive skin tones have more yellow and blue. Pink skin tones have more blue and red. Yellow undertoned skin has more yellow. Darker skin tones have more red undertones.

I've been creating avant garde makeup looks for sometime and the best white to use is a cake makeup, it is sheer enough that it won't look 'clown white' and it covers and you can apply ontop of foundation. It all depends on what you are going for.

As for contouring.. what colors are you looking for? I've contoured faces with hot pink. If you want a subtle look, I would go for a medium bronzer. If you want a noticeable contour try a brown toned blush, because they usually have red undertones.

Skin/Tan Nightmare!?

I am naturally a fair skin tone, i feel and look better with a tan

i use Fake tan on my face (Avon)

it looks natural, but due to my teenage skin i have to also keep breakouts under control.

and all the Facial Cleansers i have used to combat blemishes strip the fake tan back to my pale self.

Has anyone got a solution or better product?

I Posted similar question before but i made a mistake by clicking the wrong category, and therefore maybe not getting as many answered as possible.

Any Suggestion would be helpful

Many Thanks.
Skin/Tan Nightmare!?
Try gentler tans, like this recent Dove tanner, which does it slowly, but holds on better. It's especially better, since you are young. Don't spoil your skin, okay?
Skin/Tan Nightmare!?
well, the only thing i can think of is, get a real tan, not using a cream, it'll last longer and obviously not come off with cleansers. also, try instead of using a cream which just adds colour right away, use the types that gradually build a tan, as they change your actual skin colour instead of just putting a layer of "paint" on top of your skin. good luck!
Reply:I use olay Hint of sunshine facial moisturiser every day,so whatever I take off with cleanser I just reaply morning and night,so never look any different

What should I do about a skin-lightening dilema?? HELP?

I am half north indian (aryan-jat) and half malaysian. I am a caramel/golden color and I think I am fine. A bit darker than I would like, but fine. My grandmother and aunt are a pale sickly shade though. Their skins are naturally about the same shade as mine-(probably lighter) but they apply all this pale foundation and creams which although disperses melanin and makes their skin lighter, it gives them a sickly dull shade with no vibrance whatsoever that comes from natural beauty. Skin lightening creams are extremely popular in India because lighter skin is a sign of beauty for most-all Indians. This is also true for many other women of colour. Anyhow, my grandma ships me in bottles and bottles of the creams which I only apply on my hands beause I want to show that I am using them, but not put them on my face. By my grandma sending me in bottles and bottles and often commeting on skin colour, I often feel lost into what I should do-be proud for what I am %26amp; not worry? What do you think?
What should I do about a skin-lightening dilema?? HELP?
Don't mess yourself up. If you're happy and content with the way you look-- you're a step ahead of most people. If you make yourself look sickly and dull your not going to feel good about yourself. Be proud of who and what you are and don't worry about this any longer.

Skin Heal Faster?

Hey, I had a condition called molluskum contagiousm, like these bumps, and to get rid of them the dermatologist put this ointment on them to make them blister, i had an extreme reaction and it because a huge open cut, soes anybody know how to make the damagd skin heal faster. PS: I have already calmed down the inflamation, I just wanna know how to get a few odd bumps, and the chapped open skin ti heal faster! thanks I appreciate it!
Skin Heal Faster?
try honey. it can't hurt your skin to try it. When i was a kid, my aunt would put honey on my bumps...and it heals really really fast....so i guess it'll work on what you have.
Skin Heal Faster?
Taking B Vitamins can help you heal faster. You also might want to put shea butter on it. Shea butter is known for its overall healing qualities. Pure shea butter can even be used on your face, it's really a great cream.

Is foundation bad for skin?

I stopped using it and now my skin is much clearer. People tell me that a good foundation isn't bad for your skin, but I don't know if I really believe that anymore. Why is that guys often have much nicer skin than girls? I think it's because guys don't wear any makeup, so their skin is more clear.
Is foundation bad for skin?
i think that it is bad for skin. it clogs pores. i noticed that my skin is worse when i use it. so i just skip it and touch up with pressed poweder. my skin looks healthier.
Is foundation bad for skin?
its true!!i dont wear make-up and i have perfect skin!!!so dont wear it!lol...
Reply:Some foundations actually help your skin. But if you leave it on at night, your pores will be clogged, resulting in blemished skin. So if using a good foundation, and washing your face twice a day, you really should not have any problem. I use bobbi brown tinted moisturizer, which is better for skin than foundation. I put powder over that. Its light and i havent experienced any problems, expecially with my acne prone skin. Give it a try maybe? And boys have more clear of skin because they dont irritate it as much with washing their faces, makeup, etc. But us girls are always touching our faces, rubbing in lotion, moisurizing, washing our faces and applying makeup. Our skin can break out from the oils on our skin and especially the oils from our hair.[[the disadvantages of side bangs..sigh]] Well good luck, hope i helped u!
Reply:Its not bad for your skin as long as your wear a light weight moisturizer underneath and also make sure you cleanse your skin really well each night before you go to bed so that your skin gets a break from it
Reply:You have to have a good solid name brand. Natural high quality also makes a huge difference.

Look into Bee Luscious Cosmetics their liquid powder mineral foundation is amazing.
Reply:i use bare minerals, it is 100 % pure minerals, and doesn't clog pores.it is the only brand recommended by the the national skincancer foundation, because it is actually good for the skin, and has a natural spf 15. the quality of my skin has improved a lot, since i started using it.
Reply:I find that the fewer ingredients in makeup, the better it is. Anything with mineral oil in it is bad.

I think that men have better skin because they don't go through hormone fluctuations that us girls go through.
Reply:foundation is not in any way good for your face it cloges pores and its oily nothing about it is good for your face
Reply:get id bare escentials. it's really good for your skin and the quality is amazing. kind of pricy but worth it!
Reply:i dont think you should wear foundation because it clogs your pores because its thick and it keeps oil on your face. oil builds up and causes acne and skin irritations. i light powder would due you just fine. MAC has good makeup, such *** the Studio Fix and somehting else called somthing powder or powder something it works well too and blends well with your skin. or you could try not wearing makeup for a while or cleaning your face more to keep it free from oil
Reply:Some foundations can be bad for the skin depending on the ingredients in it, and your type of skin. I have very sensitive skin and I use Bare Minerals foundation. It gives really good coverage and it doesn't even look or feel like you're wearing make-up. I order it on-line but you can get it at a store named Sephora too. Practically all my friends use it too and we all have different types of skin, really it works.
Reply:I'm pretty sure that foundations clog up your pores, causing acne, pore size increase, etc. It's not the foundation, but it's like the buildup, ya know? I personally refuse to wear foundation, liquid, cream, or powder. They're too heavy. Just a little bit of concealer and loose, natural powder is good for me. And yeah, guys and kids don't wear make up so their skin tends to be clear and nice.
Reply:i wear foundation and have for awhile now and i've NEVER had a problem with my skin. i think its all in the brand you use and how you take care of your skin before you put on the makeup and afterwards such as washing it off before falling asleep, using the correct tools to put it on, making sure you have the right type for your skin, and putting on the right moisturizer/primer before you put it on.
Reply:You're right! Foundation clogs your pores, even if it's oil free. Not too mention, it actually ages your skin. It's good that you stopped wearing foundation, that stuff is nasty!

Skin problem?

A part of my skin on the back of my neck feels and appears a bit different. It feels very smooth, somewhat like velvet than rest of the skin and level wise, also seems a bit uneven. Its color seems slightly darker. Anybody has any idea what that might be. There's no pain or anything. May be just slight burning sometimes, but nothing else. allergy or what? Any clue? Should I see a doctor or a dermitologist?
Skin problem?
Go see a dermatologist, might be contact dermatitis, might be a premalignant lesion, could be anything.
Skin problem?
It might just simply be a birthmark. Then again, you should go to your doctor to confirm that.

Skin getting darker?

Over the past couple of teenage years i've noticed my pale white skin color getting slightly darker for no apparent reason. Now is this normal for some peoples skin to get darker permenentaly over time? I also have some black grandparents down the line, could these genes be the reason?
Skin getting darker?
when one ages, skin color tends to get darker because the sun is the no. 1 cause for sun damage and tanning, more so if you're an active outdoor person.. if genes were the attributes, it should have shown a long time ago.

Skin problems?

we've got a boxer/lab/rednose pit and she's got really bad skin problems. she is losong hair in different parts of her body that she chews at and has scabs behind her ears. what can i use to help her skin heal and get better?
Skin problems?
You should bring your dog to the vet. If this is just dry skin - no big deal - you can try human and/or holistic remedies if you like. It could also be allergies. We had a dog that had allergies that caused this and we treated him with benadryl at the vet's suggestion and at the vet's recommended dosage. But there could be some sort of parasite causing this condition and the longer you wait the worse it will get. I could also be caused by a staph infection that could be contagious. You definitely want to cure that with proper antibiotics ASAP. Just bring her to the vet (even if only this one time) for a proper diagnosis so that you will know what is causing this problem- and if it isn't anything too severe you can freely treat it on you own if it recurs.

Skin problems?
You can try a moisturizing shampoo. Also try to put ointment on her scabs. I've put Band-aid brand antibiotic cleanser on my dog's cuts and scrapes. My Dalmation is always getting scrapes somewhere!

If her skin is really bad maybe your vet can give her a special ointment but it will be costlier than the "human kind".

Skin shiners?? How do you get this affect??

How do women get the look of freshly polished skin. Their shoulders, and arms seem to have a shiny glow. I'm not talking about the glittery lotions, I'm talking about a healthy shine or polished look. Is there a certain lotion or other product out there? My skin, although it's healthy, looks dull and drab.

Thanks!
Skin shiners?? How do you get this affect??
My sister works for InStyle Magazine and she says that a product used by most runway models is called Leg Shine by Michael Kors. It looks like a roll on stick and has a slight bronze glow and it gives a sheen without being greasy. You can buy it at Ulta Beauty store or Sephora and sometimes I've seen it on EBAY. P.S.... it's not just for legs. Happy New Year!

Reply:Without anything permanent, a simple and effective way to get that pretty glow and shine is to apply baby oil to your legs, shoulders and arms. It's good for your skin and looks great also--not to mention cheap!
Reply:using makeup with highlighters and bronzers. I like revlon skinlights (I think thats what its called) its a liquid and you can dab it on your cheeks in a diagnal line to the corner of your eyes. Also putting sheer white on your brow bown and in the bottom corner of your eyes by your nose. Using blush, wearing warm tones, etc etc.

I don't know what is wrong with the skin near my fingernails but it has cracked skin. I take multivitamin and I don't know what is wrong with it.
Skin near my fingernails cracks?
That's a deficiency in B2 (Riboflavin). Do you also have sore tongue and cracked lips?? Check whether your multivitamin has B2 in it and what dosage. Recommended dosage for adults is 1.2 - 1.7mg. If your tablets do have sufficient amounts, maybe try crushing tablets and mixing with food/juice.

Skin tone? :]?

okay so i have relatively fair skin, the only part of my body that tans good is my tummy. so i was wondering if a spray tan would be a good idea? and i have blonde hair, does having a lighter skin tone with light hair make you look more pale or if i died my hair darker would it make me look less pale lol.

HELPP :D
Skin tone? :]?
But pale isn't bad. If you have light hair and fair skin, you can probably pull off a very airy, ethereal look. (Beautiful, in my opinion.)

If you really want to look tan, though, that's definitely your call, and good luck to you.

If you want good advice on what kinds of colors, make ups, and tanning supplies will look great on you, it might be fun to talk to an Avon rep. That's their job, and I'm sure they'd love to give you advice on your skin tone and hair color and the best ways to complement them.

(Source link leads to "find a rep" page on the Avon website, if you're interested.)
Skin tone? :]?
No matter your hair color, if your skin is pale, you will look pale.
Reply:my suggestion is to get a custom spray tan. at my salon, are girl has different colors for all shades of skin. if you have yourself sprayed by an actual person, your results will be flawless!!

Skin pigmentation?

i have a few small areas of skin that are really dark and very noticable compared to the rest of my skin. Dr's said to look something up on the internet but i can't find anything to lighten pigmentation that people say actually does work! Anybody had any success with lightening dark patches? how? Also is there anything natural i could use as well instead of chemicals although i don't mind chemicals if you don't know of anything else!!
Skin pigmentation?
IPL (intense pulse light) should successfully treat the dark patches. Otherwise try "Cosmedix Lightning" which is a natural product that contains Azelaic Acid, Licorice and Mulberry to lighten pigmentation. Here's the link.

http://www.cosmedix.com/product.php?pid=...

Good beauty salons and some dermatologists stock the cosmedix range. IPL is also available from dermatoligsts and cosmetic surgereons. You may need 4-6 treatments.

Hope this helps.
Skin pigmentation?
Hi,

I know in CVS or Walgreen, carry bleaching cream to helps fade dark area. I use it all the time...But it take awhile until it affective like 2 to 3 weeks. It call Esoterica an it in the face cream department. But remember to find one that say for Daytime, if you out in the sun alots... Well i hope it helps!!
Reply:What kind of Dr. tells their patient to look it up on the internet??? Change your doctor #1. #2 it may be some type of skin fungus (not harmful). To find out if it is fungus: go into a dark room and flash a black light on the area. If the infected area glows then it is fungus. Then you need some cream or shampoo from a REAL doctor.

Reply:i dont no any natural remedies but i am trained in Crystal Clear ( microdermabrasion ) which before i done the cause was a bit sceptical about it but can honestly say i have seen really good results on my clients who have acne scarring and pigmentation dissorders. I had one lady who had a dark patch one one cheek and on one side of her jaw line and she had a course of 6 treatments and the difference was brilliant. The good thing is with this facial is it is not painful. It can be on the expensive side at our salon it is 拢45 for a deluxe facial but have a look for a salon near you who do this facial as some salons will do it cheaper for you by just doing the crystal part of the facial which is the part that helps with the pigmentation

good luck

Skin care system?

Am currently using Clinique 3 step for my face and have been since I started looking after my skin... Am now 23 though and would like to include anti-aging products in my daily skincare routine and am therefore looking to change from Clinique to something else... can anybody reccommend a suitable and reasonably priced skincare routine? I have quite oily skin so the soap / cleanser can't be too creamy...
Skin care system?
why on earth do you want to use anti aging if your 23, dont believe the myth if u start using now it will prevent lines in the future, those creams and miracle treatments are just empty promises

and im not saying dont care for your skin, u jus dont need anti aging stuff! if u age u age there are many factors that age the skin its not just based on what skin care routine u have!
Skin care system?
I have the perfect solution for you.Have you ever heard of Artistry? I buy mine online at jjordan15.Qhealthbeauty.com

I use the essentials hydrating 3 step care or they have a balancing system for oily skin. They have wonderfil time defiance prodcuts you can use and their affordable and it's excellent quality. They also have a money back guarentee if you dont think they work. But they will. It's awesome stuff. You should pass the word along if you like it. They also sell an awesome vitamin line for women that includes a hair, skin and nail supplement. It's called Simply Nutralite for women. Good luck!
Reply:The expression anti-aging is just a marketing ploy. HOWEVER, it is a good idea to take good care of your skin and start doing it as early as possible.

I personally use Olay Definity for the day time and Olay Night Firming Cream, in fact, I use all of Olay's products and find them to be excellent. Their Olay Quench Body Lotion is great, and they have a selection of different face washes too. They have a very wide range now, even one with Green Tea extract. They aren't the cheapest but they are cheaper than Clinique.

I'm almost 43 and frequently am not believed when I tell my age. I am told I look at least 10 years younger, so something must be working.
Reply:The Clinique 3 step cleansing routine is a good one, just add to it.

Start using eye creams...start small though, like Avon's Anew Clinical Eye Lift, it has a cream for the bottom and corners of eyes plus a gel for the lids and brow bone.

Estee Lauder's Perfectionist [CP+] is wonderful, noticeable results almost immediately! Clinique is an Estee Lauder company. So you are already in good hands.

Good luck! I'm 30 and people think I'm 22...so I'm doing something right. ;)
Reply:Anti ageing! At your age! Thats crazy. You dont need to whack that stuff on ur fact at 23 years old. Im 21 and use regular facial wipes and bit of moisturiser and that gets me through the day. Carry on with 3 step and when yu reach 30 then consider using anti-ageing if u want.
Reply:Your busy lifestyle leaves little time for pampering skin care. The result: Your skin isn't the baby-soft body glove with which you were born. With age, your skin gradually becomes thinner and finely wrinkled. Oil-producing (sebaceous) glands grow less active leaving your skin drier. The number of blood vessels in your skin decreases, your skin becomes more fragile, and you lose your youthful color and glow.

Good skin care 鈥?such as avoiding the sun, washing your skin gently and applying moisturizer regularly 鈥?can help delay the natural aging process and prevent many skin problems. These simple skin-care habits will help you protect your skin to keep it healthy and glowing for years to come.

1. Protect yourself from the sun

The best way to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. Ultraviolet light 鈥?the invisible but intense rays of the sun 鈥?damages your skin, causing deep wrinkles, dry, rough skin, liver spots, and more serious disorders, such as noncancerous (benign) and cancerous (malignant) skin tumors.

For the most complete sun protection, use all three of these methods:

Avoid the sun during high-intensity hours. The sun's rays are most damaging from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reduce the time you spend outdoors during these hours.

Wear protective clothing. Cover your skin with clothing, such as long-sleeved shirts, long pants and wide-brimmed hats. Also, keep in mind that certain clothing styles and fabrics offer better protection from the sun than do others. For example, long-sleeved shirts offer better protection than short-sleeved shirts do. And tightly woven fabrics such as denim are better than loosely woven fabrics such as knits.

Use sunscreen. Apply sunscreen liberally 20 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every two hours, after heavy sweating or after being in water.

2. Don't smoke

Smoking can accelerate the normal aging process of your skin, contributing to wrinkles. Skin changes from smoking can be seen in young adults who have been smoking for as few as 10 years.

Smoking causes narrowing of the blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin. This decreases blood flow, depleting the skin of oxygen and nutrients, such as vitamin A, that are important to skin health. All of these factors increase damage to the elastic fibers (elastin) and collagen which give your skin strength and elasticity.

In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking 鈥?such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke 鈥?may contribute to wrinkles. It's also possible that repeated exposure to the heat from burning cigarettes may damage your facial skin over time.

3. Wash your skin gently

Cleaning is an essential part of caring for your skin. The key is to treat your skin gently.

Use warm water and limit bath time. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time to about 15 minutes or less, and use warm, rather than hot, water.

Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps 鈥?those most capable of stripping oil from your skin 鈥?can leave your skin dry. Instead, choose mild soaps with oils and fats added to them during the soap manufacturing process.

Avoid irritating additives. If your skin is sensitive, avoid products containing perfumes or dyes. These can irritate your skin and may trigger an allergic response.

Remove eye makeup carefully. Use a soft sponge, cotton cloth or cotton balls when removing eye makeup to avoid damaging the delicate tissue around your eyes. If you wear heavy, waterproof makeup, you may need to use an oil-based product such as petroleum jelly.

Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on the skin. Immediately moisturize your skin with an oil or cream.

4. Moisturize regularly

Moisturizers help maintain your skin's natural moisture levels. They work by providing a seal over your skin 鈥?to keep water from escaping 鈥?or by slowly releasing water into your skin.

The moisturizer that's best for you and the frequency with which you need to moisturize depends on many factors, including your skin type, your age and whether you have specific conditions such as acne. A good way to test if you need a moisturizer is to wait 20 minutes after bathing. If your skin feels tight, you should apply a moisturizer.

Select a moisturizer with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 to help protect your skin from damaging ultraviolet rays. If you have sensitive skin, look for products free of heavy dyes, perfumes or other additives. If your skin is very dry, you may want to apply an oil, such as baby oil, while your skin is still moist. Oil has more staying power than moisturizers do and prevents the evaporation of water from the surface of your skin. If your skin is oily, you may want to skip moisturizing.

5. Shave carefully

Shaving is a common and inexpensive way to remove unwanted hair. But shaving can cause skin irritations, especially if your skin is thin, dry or very sensitive. For a smooth shave:

Press a warm wash cloth on your skin before shaving to soften the hair. Or shave after a warm bath or shower.

Don't shave dry skin, which can cause razor burn. Apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving to protect and lubricate your skin.

Use a clean, sharp razor. If using an electric razor, don't use the closest setting, which can irritate the skin.

Shave in the direction of hair growth, not against it.

Rinse your skin afterwards with warm water.

If irritation does occur, apply a lotion that doesn't contain ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Though alcohol and alcohol-based products may feel cooling, they don't really soothe irritated skin because the alcohol evaporates rapidly from the skin.
Reply:I agree with you its never to early to start a good anti-aging regimen. I use the Philosophy makeup optional line. It comes with a cleanser, serum, moisturizer and eye cream. It cost around 78 dollars but worth the price. If your not looking to spend so much then look for certain ingredient that helps with anti aging.

Some of these ingredients are: Glycolic acid, lactic acid, vitamins a.c.e, hyaluronic acid, peptides, retinal, and there are so much more.

You can stick with Clinique 3 step line just switch the moisturizer to something that helps with anti-aging and a serum.

Skin breaks up and white liquid pops up on the skin!! how to get rid of that?

hi, i have bad skin!! on my face, when i wake up in the morning, there are small little white acne kind of things poped up on the face!! if i break them then a white fluid thing comes out of it, how to prevent it?
Skin breaks up and white liquid pops up on the skin!! how to get rid of that?
They are called pimples. Welcome to puberty. Something that works well and you can get through your physician, is Benzoylperoxide gel.
Skin breaks up and white liquid pops up on the skin!! how to get rid of that?
WHITE FLUID = PUS

DERMATOLOGIST = SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEMS
Reply:Wash your face daily with an antibacterial soap like safeguard. You can also apply rubbing alcohol to your face (stay away from your eyes and don't breathe in the vapors), but concentrate on the areas that have the worse acne. As you get older your hormones should calm down and the acne will clear up on its own. You could also go to a dermatologist and find out what he/she can do for you.
Reply:Got to the doctor, they might provide you an acne medicine. When you break them, that is pus coming out, and dirt and build up. Sounds like acne 2 me!

Skin products for acne??

my skin is rlllly irratated from clinique any1 know any rlllly effective products that are rllly good for sensitive skin for acne no proactiv you rlly dont kno how much this is bugging me thxx soo much!!

less than 50 dollars
Skin products for acne??
I have sensitive skin and I use Neutrogen Advanced Solutions (it is a treatment for your face, it includes the cleanser, day moisturizer, and night lotion). I have tried everything and the only thing that had work for me so far was this product. It only coast $30.00 you can buy it at any drug store like Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreen's etc.. So far everyone is telling you about one product not an acne treatment. However, proactive does not work (for me and I have very sensitive skin) for everyone and I have tried dermatologist. The only thing they would do is give you a lot of samples to see if they work or not. You can not find!! a product that would eliminate acne (theirs no way because your body always go thought changes). I hope that I was helpful!!

Good Luck!!!
Skin products for acne??
clinique products are real harsh. i have used som este lauder products for skin and that has help
Reply:proactive, it's easy on your skin and you can see the results in like 2 days
Reply:Proactive and Wal-Mart has a knock off to the (generic) proactive line.
Reply:you can get clearisal that is made specifcally for sensative skin and works well at clearing up acne too
Reply:olay!!!!! i have been using it for a year now, and my face is absoulutely clear!!!!!! all my friends ask what i use, and i just say, oh, just this stuff my mom uses......but i dont know where she gets it from........and say, the name is.....i dont know....oryla cleanser!!! lol

Reply:I have bad acne too. I think it is from touching my face, my hands are really oily and clammy all the time. I don't use anything on my face though, it seems like everytime I try something on my face, It gets even worse, then I stop and It gets better.

See if your insurance covers a dermatologist or whatever those skin doctors are called. If it does, go to one of them and you shouldn't have to pay more then 50 dollars after the insurance kicks in.

Good luck. :)
Reply:you should try clearasile... i do believe it is easy to fine and you can get it in a big bottle...

its not proactive but it really does work for me and lots of my friends use it....

just try it it should be gone after 2 days with this stuff
Reply:I have acne and I used proactiv and it worked well. You have to use it exactly like it says though to get good results--2-3 times a day. My friend uses a skin care line from BeautiControl that he says works well, too.

Skin problems...?

Im 20 and have had bad skin since I was about 14. Last year it cleared up alot and I only had a few blemishes here %26amp; there but recently ive had really bad break-outs.

Im quite healthy %26amp; only really drink water. I have been under a bit of stress aswell.

Does anyone know of any good skin care products? Ive tried so many %26amp; even expensive stuff. I also cleanse, tone %26amp; moisturise daily. I dont really wear make-up often either.

No stupid answers please.
Skin problems...?
I am turning 30 later this year and have had a lifelong problem with acne. I have been using Proactiv for about a year and a half. I love it! I have noticed a big difference in my skin. It is about $40 for the system which typically last two months, however, I find that I can usually go longer without buying it. The beauty about Proactiv is that you can go on the website and change how often you receive it. You can also change up your system whenever you want. They also have a million other products that are great! Check them out at http://www.proactiv.com

Hope this helps!!
Skin problems...?

Reply:Why not just go to your doctors??

If you've had it for so long then anything you buy from the shop probably wont work!!

I'm on antibiotics for my skin... and have been for about 3 years! Now Ive been referred to a dermatologist!

Worth going!
Reply:let me tell you i have pretty severe acne and its only clearing now because im taking medication. Any products you use will not help, this i know because you have told me your heathy and use good products. Your problem is hormones and as you stated aswell "stress" as soon as that factor disapears you will realise your zits will too, problem is how do u do that when thats generally how you live your life? if you want the best cure to acne take aracotane, though it has depression side effects. Try taking medication like me so you dont have to deal with it.
Reply:Stress will cause your skin to break out. I have heard Proactive is good but I haven't used it.
Reply:Hi,

Try using fruits and vegies, they are a lot good for the skin. try for xample using cucomber peels or melon slices, just apply them to ur skin.

Enjoy it
Reply:Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Perhaps a visit to the dermotologist would be in order. I'm 40,and never had acne in my life, but now, because of stress I'm always hiding something, lol. Maybe it might be food allergies,or something else causing it,too. I notice certain hair products and/or perfume will make my face break out. It is possible that you're cleaning your face too much, too. When I get outbreaks,I find that Seabreeze applied at night before bed helps clear it up in no time.
Reply:Talk to your doctor about going on birth control pills designed for acne problems. This can help your skin completely clear up in a matter of months, as well as the other benefits the pill brings. Antibiotics can work initially, but as a long term acne control they become ineffective due to your body creating a tolerance. Also, see a dermatologist/doctor about topical treatment creams which can be bought both over the counter and by prescription to prevent/clear up breakouts. You might want to stop daily moisturising, as this can help breakouts form, instead only moisturise dry areas with a light moisturiser. Other tips are to minimise long, hot showers, and to keep shampoo and conditioner away from your face.

In all: see a doctor, they will have the best ways to help you.

Reply:The best thing to do is to start working on your inner self. Are you drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water every day?? Eat a healthy diet and stop soda %26amp; sugar. Get exercise every day.Make sure you get a multi-vitamin and taking cod liver oil capsules help a lot with the dry skin. After two to three weeks of this, you should notice a difference in your hair %26amp; your skin. Good Luck
Reply:try purpose face bar. its pretty good.....
Reply:I have tons of advice. The best is please dont over dry your skin with harsh products. Use a mild cleanser.

If you can afford it get a facial.

If not, that is okay. Here are some steps to take if you can't get a facial.

1) Get a good clay mask. I can recommend some if you need.

2) Invest in a face steamer ($19)

3) Get a good gentle exfoliation cream (la therapie is my fave)

4) add moisture to your skin with a simple moisturizer (cetaphil moisturizer is the simplest)

5) Lots of water

6) sleep with a humidifier

7) cetaphil cleanser is a must have
Reply:Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. But don't worry, so many people including myself have gone through that. This is what I do to help my skin stay clear. I use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser to wash my skin. I use a gentle toner like Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner to thoroughly cleanse my skin of oil, makeup, etc. Then I moisturize with Aveeno Clear Skin Daily Lotion with Soy Active. At night, if i feel a pimple coming up, I dab on Neutrogena On the Spot Acne Treatment BP 2.5%. Then sometimes during the week, I use Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask as a Mask on my skin. That's it! and I have had amazing results. These are products that are all available at drug stores and relatively affordable compared to other stuff I've heard people using.

The important thing to remember is to BE GENTLE WITH YOUR SKIN. I use to think that if i wash it with medicated stuff that acne would get better. No it doesn't. my skin just got more irritated, leading to more break outs and a vicious cycle that continues year after year. But now I treat my skin gently, and it has done better than anything i've used previously.

The Cetaphil, I am on my 6th bottle. I know that it will feel like heavy water at first, but it really does a great job of gentle cleaning. Then if you are a girl, and have makeup on that you don't feel that Cetaphil removed completely, use the gentle toner to take off the remaining stuff. And try not to wear foundation too much. I never do, just concealer. And one last thing, for the Benzoyl Peroxide, use 2.5% never 10% because 10% will over irritate your skin, doing more damage than it helps.

Hope that helps you.
Reply:I have been making simple, all natural soaps for several years. I have a natural soap company called "Katherine Leslie Soaps".

Cleansing is often confusing because most commercial "facial", or "shower" bars are entirely or partially "detergent". This is why they are not called "soap" bars. Soap is made from vegetable, or animal oils, while detergents are made from petroleum. Detergents are wonderful for scrubbing oil off your driveway, but quite harsh to skin.

Real soap made from natural oils is very gentle. When soap molecules form, a natural moisturizing substance, glycerin, is formed right along with them. Commercial soap companies often remove the glycerin from their soap. What do they do with the glycerin they remove? Well, many things. Glycerin is an incredibly smooth lubricant used by several industries. The glycerin is also sold as a separate product. If you go to the drug store and buy a bottle of vegetable glycerin, you will probably be holding what was removed from some commercial soap. If you check lotion ingredients, you will find that glycerin is a very common ingredient. The industry tends to remove the glycerin from soap and then sell it back to us again in the lotion we need after using one of their soaps from which it was taken.

Katherine Leslie Soaps never remove the natural glycerin from our soaps. My customers report a greatly reduced need for lotions, and some have stopped needing any at all.

Bathing should not leave us feeling like our skin has shrunken a size. With regular use, you can know clean skin that is not "tight" and dry feeling. I personally have used only Katherine Leslie Soaps ever since I experienced the difference several years ago. I have some areas that had always been prone to dry skin in the winter, they are a problem no more. I think glycerin within soap, as it naturally occurs, has made a big difference.

Soap is only for cleansing and can't do the work of a good diet and general overall health. You may have needs that are in other areas than only the cleansing product you use. Skin problems don't find their solutions overnight. But a gentle natural soap with it's glycerin intact is certainly a step in the right direction.

Skin Lightening | Skin Bleaching | Complexion Restoration | Even Tone?

Hi There,

I am a 30 year old Afro Caribbean male.

Over the past ten years my face, hands, outer arms and shoulders have become considerably darker than my inner arms and legs (the complexion I love), I believe this is due to heavy exposure to the sun.

At the risk of sounding totally vain - I want to regain my old complexion, that nice caramel brown I had back when I was 10 years old ;-)

Aside from doing what can be done to lighten my skin to regain my old complexion - It would be nice if I could get my hands, face, outer arms and shoulders to match my inner arms and legs.

Can anyone you tell me which products I need to buy, for guaranteed all over results.

Thanks!

You can try these home remedies to remove tan %26amp; lighten skin:

Mix 1 table spoon of milk powder, 1 table spoon of honey, 1 table spoon of lemon juice, and 陆 table spoon of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin and also removes tan.

Mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice and apply on the face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It helps remove the tan and lightens the skin.

Place sliced raw potato on the face. It helps reduce blemishes and other marks.

Applying turmeric powder along with lime juice removes the tan. Lime juice is natural bleach.

Dried orange peels mixed with curd also help reduce blemishes and scars. Wash off this mixture with cold water after 15 minutes.

Soak 4 almonds overnight. Grind into a fine paste using milk. Apply on face and neck and leave it overnight. Wash with cold water in the morning. Do this daily for 15 days, followed by twice a week.

A table spoon of gram flour mixed with 2 table spoon of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice works well for lightening dark skin. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off. Repeat for 4 weeks and follow up with once a week.

Apply a paste of fresh ground mint leaves and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with cold water, continue for 15 days.

Apply a mixture of grated tomato with 2-3 drops of lime juice on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Do this twice a day for 15-20 days for best results.
