Does dry skin cause more oil?

Some websites told me not to use face scrubs so much. It will cause dry skin, and dry skin will make extra oil. They said to wash your face with your face scrub only once or twice a week.

I wash my face with the face scrub everyday. Does that mean my skin is making extra oil? Should I cut back on the face wash? I use clean and clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub.
Does dry skin cause more oil?
Yes. You're skin tries to hydrate your skin more with oil. Drink a bunch of water. And I mean a lot. It'll help your dry skin problem, and the oil problem. Scrubbing your face that much is fine. It's what I do.
Does dry skin cause more oil?
No
Reply:Yes because your body is trying to rehydrate the skin.If you are using that Blackhead Scrub i would only use it once a day.And maybe something not so harsh the other times.
Reply:The thing is, if you use a harsh facial scrub, you would be scraping the skin off too much, and that would cause the skin to be rough and lose moisture, so the skin would generate more oil and clog your pores. If you want to use a facial scrub everyday I suggest you use a light one or an exfoliater like baking soda. It's got a fine texture that will not harm your skin, it will gently remove those dead cells. Just add a bit of water to it and massage into your skin. It's gentle enough to use everyday. =) make sure you remember to moisturize afterwards--thats the key to healthy skin.
Reply:yes.

the skin is dry so it trys to hydrate itself by producing more oil.

just drink plenty of water and use an oil-free moisturizer
Reply:yup, because your pores are sooo dry that later on they burst out with oil, instead of gradually. use a moisterizer with no oil in it. i recomend -Clean %26amp; Clear Morning Burst Shine Free Moisterizer. its soooo light weight, and its not greasy AT ALL. i love it!
