I have very, very oily skin and my face breaks out quite a bit but not that bad, also my pores are very clogged. What can I do that I haven't already done? Right now I use Proactiv twice a day. I use Bare Escentuals makeup because I thought it was better for your skin and I thought the powder would help my oily skin. I use an oil free moisturizer and and oil control serum. What am I doing wrong? And what can I do to lessen the oil, stop the breakouts and unclog the pores?
I need skin care help!?
My grandson and granddaughter in their teens has had problems with pimple breakout. They used Proactive for a long time with very little results, and dried out the skin. Then they tried Retinol A - a topical cream or gel. It works, it is not cheap, (but just a little more than Proactive) but IT works. You need a prescription for it. Then the doctor prescribed a pill, I don't know the name of the medication but it works better yet, my grandsons face cleared up right away. my grandson takes it and my granddaughter can't because she is allergic, she uses the Retinol A. Forget the ProActive, blaw, it is not cheap and for just a little more you can get something much better. Go to a derm. doctor, it is well worth the money! Get it done and done right, forget the silly crap like Proactive, those companies just want your money. Poor, kids, go to school with pimples and feel self-conscience and these companies make money off of them and sell them a product that does not work! Plus, if you are young, you don't need make-up on your face, a little eye make-up goes a long way. Let your face breath, don't clog up your pores. (just my two-bits worth, I never wore face make-up when I was young, and I had oily skin and never had a pimple. I was active and I think that helps too, keeps your circulation moving.) If you don't break out much, just need to clean the pores, maybe you are using too much stuff on your face. Maybe just need to clean it and let the pores breath. I used to use Noxema, I mentioned I did not have a pimple problem, but I really think Noxema works for a good cleaning and does not dry out skin, or leave any gunk in the pores. If the breakouts are a problem, go to the doctor like I said, don't throw away precious youth time with pimples, feel like a million dollars with a clear face.

Reply:Use a clay mask twice a week to deep cleanse. Olay makes a good one, and Aveda's deep cleansing clay masque is amazing.
Reply:I used Pro Activ and it did not work for me...it seemed to dry my skin out and breakouts were still there! I would try switching to Kate Sommerville products. It is really expensive, but it is very worth it. Also, you could try tanning without any makeup on. Good luck!

Reply:Even oily skin needs a moisturizer, but choose a light, watery fluid; this will be enough for your skin. Allow the moisturizer to sink in well and then absorb the excess with a tissue to prevent shine.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...
